What I really appreciated was being able to drive into Newquay in about fifteen minutes when I wanted proper restaurants or the beach, but then coming back to complete tranquility. The parking is right there too, which sounds boring but trust me, after a day exploring Cornwall’s narrow lanes, you’ll be grateful.

The Accommodation

My room was in the main barn conversion, and the attention to detail was impressive — original stone walls paired with a seriously comfortable bed and a bathroom that felt almost spa-like. The windows look out over farmland, and I spent way too much time just watching the light change across the fields. There’s something about staying in a building that’s been here for centuries that makes you slow down a bit. The heating works perfectly (important in Cornwall, even in summer), and the WiFi is solid if you need to stay connected.
