Here’s what I love about where this place sits — you’re in what locals consider the best part of St Ives, but you’re not drowning in crowds every time you step outside. Talland Road gives you that perfect balance where you can walk to the harbor and beaches in just a few minutes, but you actually get to sleep at night without hearing revelers stumbling past your window. The location score of 10.0 isn’t just marketing fluff either; I mean, you can see the coastline from multiple windows, and getting down to Porthmeor Beach is basically a pleasant stroll rather than a trek.

The Space

The penthouse itself feels like someone’s stylish apartment rather than a typical rental property, which I found refreshing. The living areas are spacious enough that you don’t feel cramped if you’re staying for more than a night or two, and the kitchen is actually functional — not just a token gesture with a mini-fridge and microwave. What really got me was the natural light; those windows face the right direction to catch both morning sun and those incredible Cornish sunsets. The decor strikes that tricky balance between comfortable and Instagram-worthy without trying too hard.

Practical Perks

You know what’s genuinely useful? The private parking. I cannot stress enough how much of a game-changer this is in St Ives, where finding a parking spot during peak season can honestly ruin your entire day. Having a guaranteed space right on-site means you can actually explore other parts of Cornwall without worrying about losing your spot when you return. It’s one of those things that seems small until you need it, and then it becomes the reason you’d book this place again.

  The views and the big windows in the lounge area! Juliet Balcony was a favourite of mine. Never seen one before and used it every day.
  
  What could be improved: Not something anyone has control over but – The seagulls on the roof next to the master bedroom. Constantly going all day and night. Had to shut the windows even though it was so warm at night to try and shut out some of the noise. But we were by the seaside and with that, you get seagulls!

  Great views. Really comfortable and warm. Free parking in designated space right opposite the house. Convenient for the many restaurants, beaches and galleries.
  
  What could be improved: The key to the outer door was a little tricky but we found the required amount of wiggling in the end.

  Seh komfortabel. Gute Ausstattung. wunderbare Aussicht. Parkplatz direkt am Appartement.
  
  What could be improved: Die Wohnung lag nicht weit, aber etwas oberhalb des Stadtzentrums und der Strände. Daher war der Weg immer leicht mühselig, das hat uns nicht gestört, aber man muss schon gerne laufen.
