Hotel Description
You know what hit me first about The Studio in Rosebud? The name actually makes sense once you’re there – it’s got this artistic, carefully curated feel that’s worlds apart from your typical seaside rental. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute stroll from Hayle Bay, but somehow it feels like you’ve discovered this hidden creative retreat that most tourists walking the South West Coast Path probably don’t even know exists.
The location is honestly brilliant if you know the area. Riverside Lelant is one of those spots where locals tend to keep quiet about because, well, why spoil a good thing? You’re close enough to St. Ives (maybe fifteen minutes if you catch the park-and-ride) to pop over for the gallery scene or a proper Cornish pasty, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the summer crowds or fighting for parking spaces. The Lelant Saltings area is right there too – I spent a good hour just watching the bird life and letting my mind wander. There’s something about the way the light hits the estuary in the evening that makes you understand why artists have been flocking to this corner of Cornwall for decades.
What really sets The Studio apart is the attention to detail that you don’t usually get at this price point. The design feels intentional – not like someone just threw together whatever furniture was on sale at the local shop. The 9.3 rating starts making sense when you notice things like actually decent water pressure (trust me, not a given in older Cornish properties), proper blackout curtains for those summer mornings when the sun’s up at 5 AM, and a kitchen that’s genuinely equipped for cooking, not just reheating takeaway. I actually found myself making breakfast instead of rushing out to find coffee, which says something. The wifi works properly too – important if you’re trying to upload those Instagram shots of the coastal walks or need to convince your boss you’re “working remotely.”
The walk to the beach is legitimately five minutes, not the usual holiday rental exaggeration where five minutes somehow becomes fifteen. It’s a proper sandy stretch too, not just rocks and seaweed. During my stay in late September, I had entire sections of beach to myself in the mornings – though I imagine July and August are a different story entirely. The area gets a nice mix of families and couples, but it never felt chaotic or overdeveloped like some of the bigger resort towns. Honestly, if you’re looking for somewhere that captures that quintessential Cornwall vibe without the tourist trap pricing or crowds, The Studio delivers. Just don’t tell everyone about it, yeah?

Lovely apartment with everything we needed for an overnight stay, including tea, coffee, milk and biscuits. Iona was a delightful friendly host and even offered to provide sandwiches for our walk the next day and transport our luggage to Marazion for us. Highly recommended.

The property was very comfortable and very stylish, with everything you need. The host Iona couldn’t have been more helpful and it was great to know she was on hand if I had any problems, not that I did. She gave some great suggestions of things to do in St Ives. The studio is 5 mins from the train station making it so easy to get in and out of St Ives without the hassle of parking. It was a great base from which to explore. I would recommend to anyone travelling on there on as a nice, safe place to stay. Would also suit a couple.

Very modern and comfortable studio. Ideal for a couple for a few days around St. Ives due to a closeby train station and very good access to the A-30 highway with a very friendly host.
What could be improved: Cannot think of anything.
