Hotel Description
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from The Honeypot when I first pulled up to Manor View – it’s one of those quiet residential streets in Par that you’d probably drive right past if you weren’t looking for it. But honestly, that’s exactly what makes this place work so well. The apartment sits in this lovely converted building that feels properly Cornish without trying too hard, and you’re close enough to hear the distant hum of the A390 but far enough back that it doesn’t bother you at all. The owner clearly gets that travelers want a real home base, not some sterile hotel room – there’s a proper kitchen where you can actually cook (I mean, the hob works perfectly and there’s decent counter space), and the living area has that lived-in comfort that makes you want to sprawl out with a cup of tea after a day of exploring.
Here’s the thing about staying in Par that most people don’t realize until they’re here – you’re basically perfectly positioned for everything without the tourist crowds breathing down your neck. The Eden Project is genuinely just a ten-minute drive away (I timed it), which means you can pop over early before the coach tours arrive or head back for an evening session without the hassle of fighting for parking. And the beaches? Well, you’ve got Par Sands literally on your doorstep – it’s not the most Instagram-famous stretch of coast, but it’s proper lovely for morning walks and the dog walkers are always friendly. If you want something more dramatic, Charlestown’s just down the road with those tall ships and the harbor that looks like it stepped out of a period drama (because, well, it probably has). The apartment itself feels like someone’s well-loved second home rather than a rental – the shower has proper pressure, the WiFi actually works throughout, and there’s enough storage that you’re not living out of your suitcase for the whole stay. Small touches matter too: good quality towels, a coffee machine that doesn’t require an engineering degree, and windows that open wide enough to let in that salty Cornish air on mild evenings. The 9.1 rating honestly makes sense when you spend time here – it’s not flashy or trying to be boutique, but everything just… works the way it should.

The Honeypot is in a great location to visit the Eden Project. The maisonette was very clean, well-equipped and warm. Communication with the owners was excellent. We had a really great stay, thanks.

Excellent place with all we needed. Easy to find and easy to get into-clear parking spaces. Inside it was lovely and warm with everything we needed. Kitchen had all facilities we needed. A great stay. We both agreed we would stay again.

This is a lovely place to stay! Very, very quiet, nice location, convenient for travelling around. The host was exceptionally friendly and professional. It was really nice to have such a nice, cosy flat to stay in – the kitchen was really nice, all the furniture was clean and comfortable. I'd definitely stay again. Thank you!
What could be improved: The only thing I didn't like was having to go home again! There was nothing not to like about this property. I think if someone had mobility problems, or trouble walking, they might find it a challenge, because it's a first floor flat, but for us, there was nothing not to like! It's lovely!Dean from United Kingdom – 2 November 2024 (8/10)
What could be improved: Some reason I couldn’t work the heating, probably me

My host was very friendly and helpful, while respecting my privacy throughout my stay. The location was very convenient for me, as I was visiting a friend who lives nearby. The beach, railway station and a few small but useful shops were all within walking distance. The neighours were very quiet during my stay, which I very much appreciated. The washing machine, drying rack and ironing equipment meant that I could do some laundry during my stay, which was very helpful as my stay was part of a longer trip.

This apartment was such a lovely surprise. The photos on listing do not do it justice. Excellent communication with Matthew who offered his help when needed. Online information was provided with details relating to the apartment. Super comfortable beds, spacious rooms, excellent price, quiet location
What could be improved: If I had to fault anything is that most of the windows lead to the parking area on the back of the propertyLynn from United Kingdom – 5 October 2024 (10/10)
Lovely place perfectly situated for visiting all the places we wanted to see
Very well equipped comfortable beds. Had everything we needed. I liked having a dedicated parking space.Pompey from United Kingdom – 3 June 2024 (9/10)
Late checkin and key in a lockbox, helpful lines of communication with the proprietor.
What could be improved: Only negative was the water pressure on the shower but this would not stop us booking again. Just a minor note
