You know what caught me off guard about The Decker Apartment? I was expecting something pretty standard on Higher Market Street – honestly, the name made it sound like just another converted flat above some shops. But walking up to this place, you realize it’s actually positioned in one of Looe’s sweet spots. You’re literally a minute’s walk from the harbor (I mean, you can hear the seagulls from the windows), but you’re just high enough up the hill that you escape most of the summer tourist chaos that absolutely swarms the waterfront.
The apartment itself feels like someone actually thought about how people travel these days. It’s got that 4-star polish without being stuffy – proper kitchen gear if you want to cook some of those fresh crab sandwiches from the market downstairs, but also close enough to decent pubs that you don’t have to. The beds are honestly better than I expected, and there’s something to be said for having your own space when you’re in Looe during peak season. July and August here can be… intense. What I really appreciated was the parking situation – they’ve sorted that out, which anyone who’s tried to park in Looe town center will tell you is worth its weight in gold. The WiFi actually works too, if you’re one of those people who can’t completely disconnect (no judgment, we’ve all been there).
Here’s the thing about this location that took me a day to fully appreciate – you’re close enough to walk to East Looe Beach when the mood strikes, but you can also easily get to the better swimming spots if you know where to look. The coast path is right there, and if you’re into that sort of thing, the walk to Polperro is genuinely spectacular (though pack layers, because Cornwall weather is… well, it’s Cornwall weather). The 7.7 rating feels about right – it’s solidly good without being fancy enough to make you feel like you can’t put your feet up. Sometimes that’s exactly what you want, especially after a day of fighting the crowds at the harbor or hiking the coastal paths. It’s the kind of place where you can actually relax instead of feeling like you’re living in someone else’s Instagram feed.

Location is great – central in Looe and ideal for the beach.
Welcome app and information was excellent, and a good idea
What could be improved: Location near the hotel was a bit noisy Friday and Saturday nights.
Roof terrace a little unkempt, and could be spruced up a bit.

The Decker apartment is set in an excellent location central to all amenities. It is very well equipped with modern features.
The property is very comfortable with beautiful views of the sea. Would highly recommend to anybody wishing to stay in Looe.

Our second visit and the view was as super as ever. Very well furnished and more than enough crockery, glasses and cookware. Our grandchildren have asked if we can go again next year.
What could be improved: Only one refuse bag. No kitchen roll, one partially used loo roll. Only two dishwasher tablets (a bit mean). The balcony area lets this property down because it is desperate for an overhaul and clean.
