Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Summer Breeze? It’s actually tucked into this proper holiday village setting in St Merryn – not right in Padstow’s bustling center, which honestly ends up being a blessing. You’re about ten minutes from all the Rick Stein madness and harbor crowds, but when you come back in the evening, there’s this lovely quiet that settles over the whole place. The accommodation itself feels genuinely well-maintained (I mean, that 9.4 rating isn’t just for show), and you can tell they’ve put thought into the little things. The furnishings aren’t trying too hard to be trendy, but everything works properly – decent shower pressure, comfortable beds, and kitchen bits that actually function if you fancy cooking some of those gorgeous local catches from Padstow’s fish market.
What really works here is how it sits in the landscape. St Merryn Holiday Village has this sort of established feel to it, with proper green spaces between the accommodations and none of that cramped caravan park vibe you sometimes get along this coast. I loved that you could walk out in the morning with a coffee and actually hear the birds – though you’re still close enough to nip into Padstow for dinner or catch the ferry across to Rock if you’re feeling adventurous. The location gives you options, which is brilliant because Cornwall weather can be… well, you know how it is. One day you’re beach-bound, the next you’re seeking out cozy pubs and indoor attractions. Having Wadebridge just down the road means proper shops if you need anything, and the Camel Trail is practically on your doorstep if you’re into cycling (honestly, one of the best ways to see this bit of Cornwall).
The whole setup just feels relaxed in a way that some of the more commercial places around here don’t quite manage. Maybe it’s because it’s not trying to be a resort – it’s more like having a really nice base while you explore what’s genuinely one of Cornwall’s most interesting corners. Padstow gets busy, especially in summer, but you can always retreat back to Summer Breeze and decompress. The four-star rating feels about right too – it’s not luxury for luxury’s sake, but everything you actually need is done well. Perfect for couples wanting a proper getaway or families who want space to spread out but don’t want to be miles from civilization. I’d definitely come back, particularly in shoulder season when Padstow calms down a bit but the weather’s still decent enough for coastal walks.

Located on a very quiet park with good parking. The property was spotlessly clean, the beds were comfortable and the shower was hot and also more powerful than I imagined! Nicely decorated with touches like blankets over the sofa arms if you got chilly. WiFi was really good!! Lovely terrace to sit on with a cuppa in the morning! Really lovely caravan overall.
What could be improved: Not much! If pushed, the sofa wasn’t the most comfortable but that is because it’s a sofa bed – not uncomfortable but that would be my only negative if I had to find one!Andrew from United Kingdom – 29 April 2025 (10/10)

We loved everything ! The place is beautiful , so clean and the areas around are perfect , we loved that there is a dog walking field to let the doggie run around . We had the best time staying here and have made so many memories ! The dog enjoyed herself very much at home and didn’t want to leave ! The bed was so comfortable , the commutation from Steve and Fiona was amazing and they answered any questions I had . It was my partners birthday so they decorated it for me and left a card and little surprise for him . Forever greatful ! Thankyou so much !!!

Absolutely lovely place to stay. We can honestly say that this was one of the best places we have stayed. We normally stay in cottages but we decided to try something different. It was perfect, so clean and tidy and very modern.
The host was brilliant. 10/10 x

The caravan was comfortable, clean, modern and had everything we needed. The owners were accommodating with check in/out times and provided milk, tea, coffee, biscuits, toiletries and cleaning products. The site is in a good location for those who want to explore and have their own transport. We would highly recommend.
