You know what struck me first about this place? It’s actually stylish – not in that trying-too-hard way some rentals do, but genuinely well put together. The apartment sits right on Alexandra Road, which honestly is one of those perfect Penzance locations where you’re close enough to everything but not drowning in tourist chaos. I mean, you can walk to the beach in maybe five minutes, and it’s a proper walk, not one of those “five minutes” that turns into fifteen when you’re carrying beach gear.

The space itself has this nice lived-in quality – like someone actually thought about how people use an apartment rather than just throwing together some IKEA furniture and calling it a day. The kitchen’s got everything you’d actually need (decent knives, real coffee cups, not just those tiny hotel ones), and the living area feels properly comfortable for hanging out after a day exploring Cornwall. What I really appreciated was the natural light – those windows face the right direction so you get lovely morning sun without the place turning into an oven by afternoon. The bedroom’s quiet too, which matters more than you’d think when you’re this central. Alexandra Road can get a bit busy during the day, but it settles down nicely in the evenings.

Location-wise, this is where it really shines. You’re a stone’s throw from the Promenade, and if you head down toward the harbor, there’s this whole stretch of independent shops and cafes that most people rushing to St. Michael’s Mount completely miss. The train station’s walkable too – maybe ten minutes if you’re not dragging massive suitcases. Parking can be a bit of a dance during peak summer (aren’t we all used to that in Cornwall by now?), but there are options nearby, and honestly, once you’re settled in, you probably won’t need the car much. The beaches here are the real deal – not just the main tourist stretch, but some lovely quieter spots if you know where to look. And here’s something practical: the local Tesco is close enough for easy supply runs, but far enough that you’re not dealing with constant delivery trucks outside your window. It’s those little things that make a difference when you’re staying somewhere for more than just a quick overnight.

  Price, quiet location, cleanliness, well-equipped studio, comfy large sofa, pet friendly.
  
  What could be improved: The flat is in the basement; I did not know about it when booked but still very cosy; some house ants were present in the kitchen. Communication with the host could be better. There were very delayed replies to messages and no replying directly to queries.

  We spent two weeks here and settled in quickly.

  What could be improved: The overall entrance to the building is not great and off putting but it’s not a reflection of the apartment which is of a high standard, very clean and well equipped. I used the back gate once I checked in to leave and return to the property much more pleasant. Nice outside patio with table and chairs. Penlee Park 2 mins away and 5 min walk to the beach amazing location.

  This is a lovely ground floor one bedroom apartment situated walking distance from the main promenade. It was very cozy and had everything that we needed. A great holiday stay for a couple who need a pillow to rest their heads on.
