Look, I’ve stayed in quite a few places along the Cornish coast, but this penthouse in Penzance honestly caught me off guard. You know that moment when you walk into a place and immediately think “okay, the photos didn’t lie” – that’s exactly what happened here. The sea views from Causewayhead are genuinely spectacular, and I mean that in the least estate-agent-y way possible. You’re perched right above the harbor with this sweeping view across Mount’s Bay that changes completely depending on the light and weather.
What really gets me about this place is how it manages to feel both luxurious and actually livable. The apartment itself is spacious without being intimidatingly fancy – you can spread out properly, which is rare in Cornwall where most places squeeze you into converted fishermen’s cottages (not that there’s anything wrong with that, but sometimes you want to breathe). The kitchen’s actually equipped for real cooking, not just reheating pasties, though honestly the pasties from Philps Bakery down on Market Jew Street are worth the walk anyway. Parking can be a bit of a dance around Causewayhead – it’s permit zones everywhere – but there’s usually something within a short walk, and you’re so central that you barely need the car once you’re settled.
The location is what really seals the deal though. You’re literally a two-minute stroll to the Promenade, and the train station’s right there if you’re planning day trips to St. Ives or further up the line. I actually love that you can hear the harbor in the morning – not intrusive noise, but those gentle working sounds that remind you you’re in a proper Cornish port town, not some sanitized tourist bubble. The apartment stays surprisingly quiet despite being so central, probably because it’s elevated above the street level bustle. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – none of that awkward key-safe hunting you sometimes get with holiday rentals. Honestly, with a 9.3 rating you’d expect it to be good, but this place delivers on the hype without feeling like it’s trying too hard. It’s the kind of spot where you actually want to spend time in the apartment, not just crash between coastal adventures.

The property is stunning. The view from the living room is amazing. The facilities are just right. We loved it. Amenities are very thoughtful: there are lots of different sized pans/ pots/ utensils etc., so if anyone wants to cook and enjoy homely holiday, it is a lovely place. Also, there were some board games kept inside the drawers.

Everything. Such a cosy unit and good location. My husband left his card holder with a credit card in the restaurant downstairs and they kept it safely for us and sent a message to inform me. Was so relieved to receive the message. Thank you so much.

The apartment was spacious, light, and fresh. It suited us perfectly for our stay attending a family funeral. Although it was a sad occasion, it is always a joy to visit Penzance and this apartment put us right in the centre. We'd return for a longer stay.
What could be improved: Finding something negative to say feels odd. We got what was accurately described, and it couldn't have been easier to find or access. This was a fantastic apartment in a brilliant location in the town centre. Our elderly Mum loved it too and was able to get everywhere on foot, we walked down to the seafront, Jubilee Pool etc and back really easily. Fabulous bakery and greengrocers across the road as well as lovely cafes etc near by.

Very clean ,luxury apartment,I never see as beautiful in my life,my kids love so much,they want to come again there, everything there even coffee maker ,biscuits provideed, fully furnished ,middle of twon centre,very near to beach and train station,
