Hotel Description
You know what caught me off guard about this place? The views hit you the moment you walk through the door – and I mean, nobody really prepares you for how spectacular the coastline looks from up here in Cribba. It’s one of those spots where you’ll find yourself just standing at the window with your morning coffee, watching the light change over the Atlantic. The house itself is properly spacious (hence the name, I suppose), and when they say it sleeps six, they actually mean six people can sleep comfortably, not in some cramped bunk bed situation you sometimes get with holiday rentals.
The walk down to Port Isaac village is honestly perfect – close enough that you’re not dreading the trek back up with shopping bags, but far enough that you feel like you’re staying somewhere special rather than right in the tourist thick of things. Takes about eight minutes if you’re dawdling, maybe five if you’re keen to get to the Sharp’s Brewery tap or Nathan Outlaw’s place (though honestly, book that well ahead if you’re thinking about it). What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets in the evenings – you’re just removed enough from the village center that you don’t get the late-night chatter from people heading back from the pubs, but you can still hear the waves if you open the windows. The house has that solid, traditional Cornish feel without being overly rustic – proper heating, good wifi, kitchen that actually has everything you need rather than just the basics.
Parking’s straightforward, which is more than you can say for down in the village itself during summer months. The whole setup just works well for families or groups who want to explore the area properly. You’ve got Tintagel about twenty minutes up the coast, and if you’re into the walking, the coastal path literally runs right past – you can head toward Boscastle or back toward Padstow depending on your mood. I’d probably avoid July and August if you’re looking for that peaceful Cornwall experience, but late spring or early autumn? Absolutely perfect. The 8.2 rating feels about right – it’s not luxury hotel territory, but it’s exactly what you want from a proper Cornish coastal stay.

Lovely holiday home. Very spacious, modern and clean. Parking for two cars. Good location for visiting the area, Polzeath beach only 15 minutes away. Loved the welcome pack of Milk, Proseco, chocolate and biscuits.
What could be improved: Nothing we didn't like. Only one small issue was the rather steep hill down to Port Issac. We took the car the first day… bad idea!! Then walked it… horrendous idea 😉Heather from Australia – 3 October 2023 (8/10)
Spacious, comfortable and warm. Views were lovely.
What could be improved: “Short stroll from village” was a 700 metre 25% gradient hill.Soo from United Kingdom – 9 April 2023 (9/10)
Very spacious and clean and tastefully decorated. Really helpful to have two bathrooms. Nice and warm. Well equipped kitchen. The host was very responsive especially when we experienced issues with the wi fi. Very thoughtful touches such as milk in the fridge and high quality toiletries. Great amount of storage.
What could be improved: A few extra items would have been helpful: recycling bins, kitchen roll. The double bed was a little on the small size.Simon from United Kingdom – 13 August 2024 (5/10)
Location close to port Issac. Lovely walks close by.
Upstairs was better decorated than downstairs.
What could be improved: Beds were very soft and uncomfortable. Sofa not comfy also, not good to sit on only to lie on. Outdoor area could do with some furniture and some decorating.
Also felt the property was damp. Mouldy walls curtains in the shower room.
Also wasn’t clear where to park car. Had neighbours leave notes on cars even though we thought we were parked in right spaceNeill from United Kingdom – 1 September 2024 (9/10)
