Hotel Description

You know what surprised me most about Porth Veor Manor? It actually feels like staying at someone’s really nice holiday home rather than a typical hotel – which honestly makes perfect sense since it’s all villas and apartments. The location is pretty brilliant too, tucked away on Porth Way where you’re close enough to hear the surf but far enough from the main Newquay madness that you can actually sleep at night.

I mean, Porth Beach is literally a two-minute walk down the hill, and it’s one of those spots that locals still use because it hasn’t been completely overrun yet. The villas themselves have this sort of understated elegance – think modern comfort but not trying too hard to impress. The kitchens are actually functional (rare in holiday lets, trust me), and the living spaces feel generous without being cavernous. What I really appreciated was the attention to small details – proper blackout curtains, decent water pressure, and bathrooms that don’t make you feel like you’re in a budget chain. The apartments vary quite a bit in layout, so it’s worth asking for specifics when you book, but even the smaller ones don’t feel cramped.

The whole setup works particularly well if you’re planning to explore Cornwall properly rather than just camping out in Newquay town center. You’re perfectly positioned for the coast path walks – Watergate Bay is about twenty minutes if you fancy the trek, and the other direction takes you toward the quieter coves that most tourists miss entirely. Parking isn’t the nightmare you’d expect either, which anyone who’s tried to park near Newquay’s main beaches will tell you is practically a miracle. The staff here seem to actually know the area too, not just the standard “beach is that way” directions you get elsewhere. They pointed me toward this fantastic little café in Porth village that I never would have found otherwise. Honestly, the 9.1 rating makes sense – it’s the kind of place that gets the basics absolutely right without any unnecessary fuss, and in a town where accommodation can be hit-or-miss depending on the season, that consistency is worth quite a lot.

  Excellent location, under 3mins walk from
  Porth Beach. Parking is very close and convenient. Spacious tidy apartment with open plan living and a very good sized kitchen, minimalist equipment within but enough if you’re only staying an few nights, under counter fridge, separate under counter freezer. Dining area for 6 too.
  
  Bedrooms are a good size, comfortable mattresses & pillows. Clean, spacious bathrooms. Perfect layout for families. My kids used the sofa bed and said it was very comfortable.
  
  Swimming pool was warm and easy access. Staff based in hotel were very friendly, helpful and responsive.
  
  What could be improved: The spare duvet for the sofa bed was visibly stained & did not have a cover so we could not use it the first night – a new duvet cover was brought over as soon as this was reported the following day.
  
  The dishwasher had an intermittent fault which meant we had to hand wash dishes – again, the staff were very good at coming over to try to fix it but as it was the weekend, the actual maintenance team were unavailable.
  
  It would also be helpful to have a little bit of washing up liquid & hand wash in the kitchen for the first day arrival.

  the apartment was very spacious, clean and the master bedroom had on ensuite bathroom. we could open the balcony doors and had view to the pool to enable us to easily watch out for the children swimming. the location was perfect short distance to access many beaches and attractions.

  What could be improved: Description of where my parking space was but no description of how to get from there to the property. No signs showing where different numbered apartments were. Only found out where it was after taking my luggage to main reception and finding a site map which was up a few flights of stairs and opposite direction to actual apartment. This should have been sent at the same time as all other details.

  Lovely well kept villa's in a great location. 5 min walk to porth beach, highly recommend. You can also use the hotel facilities even when staying in the villa's. Great quiet and very clean location

  We had a fantastic break, and the location was perfect as we love porth Beach. The apartment was perfect. Clean, spacious, and loved the underfloor heating. Only down side was the weather, but expected for that time of year (march).
