Hotel Description

You know what struck me first about Perran Pearl B? It’s tucked away just enough from the main Perranporth chaos that you actually get some peace, but you’re still a proper two-minute walk to that gorgeous stretch of beach. I mean, Perranporth can get absolutely mental during summer – surfers everywhere, families with windbreaks taking up half the sand – but somehow this place feels like you’ve found a little pocket of calm.

The building itself has that classic Cornish guest house vibe, nothing too fancy but genuinely comfortable in a way that actually matters. What I loved was how the owners (honestly, some of the friendliest people you’ll meet) really know their stuff about the area. They’ll tell you exactly when to hit the beach to avoid the crowds, or point you toward the coast path section that most tourists completely miss. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star – clean, well-maintained, proper hot showers that don’t run out of pressure halfway through. Some have those brilliant sea glimpses if you crane your neck just right, though honestly, you’ll be outside most of the time anyway.

Here’s the thing about staying here versus some of the bigger hotels closer to the village center – you’re not dealing with hen parties stumbling back from the Watering Hole at 2am, but you’re still close enough to walk to dinner without needing the car. Parking’s included too, which is actually a godsend because finding a spot in Perranporth during peak season is like winning the lottery. The breakfast is properly good – none of that sad continental buffet nonsense, they’ll do you a full Cornish that’ll fuel you through a morning of battling the Atlantic. I’d definitely recommend booking direct with them rather than through one of those big booking sites; they’re the sort of place that remembers if you mentioned you’re celebrating an anniversary or whatever. It’s got that 8.6 rating for good reason – not because it’s trying to be something it’s not, but because it does exactly what a great seaside B&B should do, just really, really well.

    Location

What could be improved: No view

  • Melissa from United Kingdom – 13 June 2025 (9/10)

Everything you need for a comfortable stay in walking distant to the beach. Clean and as described

What could be improved: Add the iron and ironing board to the list of amenities as was there and we took them and didn’t need. WiFi could be better and the pillows on the bed are getting a bit flat. Some little extras in the kitchen would help, sauté pan with lid, pasta bowls, scales and food tongs

  • Weston from United Kingdom – 28 September 2024 (9/10)

    Very clean and very comfortable
    Welcome pack lovely

  • Sylvia from United Kingdom – 14 September 2024 (9/10)

Property was not too far from the town or beach however the property was on a hill so some would find it too hilly.

What could be improved: Towel rail was not on upon arrival so one had to search for the on switch. Eventually we found it however it should have been on or details of where it is left for the user if they required it.

  • Joshua from United Kingdom – 6 July 2024 (9/10)

Fantastic area, really cosy cottage vibes. Everything you need in the apartment including a coffee machine and a lovely welcome package of local treats. 5-10 minute walk to the beach and secure back of the property ideal for surfing getaways

What could be improved: Me and my partner both prefer to sleep cold and the apartment does get quite warm so I would advise taking a fan or a thin sheet to use instead of the duvet. We just removed the duvet and it was no real issue for us at all.

  • Helena from United Kingdom – 19 May 2024 (9/10)

So comfortable, especially the bed. Very well equipped and appointed.
    Quiet location
Lots of personal touches to make us feel at home.
    Felt a valued guest

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Andrew from United Kingdom – 30 April 2023 (9/10)

Love this small but comfortable apartment, the big bed so comfortable the kitchen had the basics for a pleasant stay. Pots ,pans cutlery etc. Lovely little fridge freezer under counter never seen 1 like this before perfect size.
    Microwave, coffee machine. Dolce gusto
As our weather was chilly we didn't get to sit out but the space is extremely small anyway with not much sun ,the apartment above has a better balcony if that helps .
The welcome pack is Very nice ,we never saw the owner which is ashame I still like the meet n greet at least some time during our stay.
The walk up the hill is quite steep and a few stops are needed for us in our 60 s but all in all a lovely place, compact comfortable and good shower room.

  • Lucy from United Kingdom – 24 August 2022 (9/10)

What a great place to stay – beautifully clean with everything we needed, in a fab location. Thank you so much we had such a lovely time.

  • Fiona from United Kingdom – 26 April 2025 (8/10)

Although at the top of a hill it was only 15 minutes to town and the beach. Buses to Truro and Newquay. And once in truro can gwt further afield if you have no car. The accommodation had everything you could hope for. Even a welcome pack including scones and cream and a litre of milk. Perfect for either a long traveller or couple. Would be a brilliant christmas bolt hole.

What could be improved: The hill lol. For those with mobility issues it would be a struggle. I have two knee replacements but managed it slowly. But everywhere is on a hill. The bed was comfy but one or two nights my hips where painful on waking.

  • Leanne from United Kingdom – 19 July 2023 (8/10)

The apartment was ideally located near to shops, bars and the beach. The property was on a hill but this didn’t bother us. The property was clean with good kitchen facilities and a really comfortable and spacious bed. The little welcome basket was a lovely touch and very much appreciated.

What could be improved: A couple of small points, but these didn’t affect our holiday and we would go back again. Some of the paintwork needed a retouch, we could have done with a full length mirror, some more cleaning products could have been provided to use during the week and some coat hooks to hang coats and other things on.
