You know what struck me first about Ocean View Apartments? It’s actually tucked away on this quiet little stretch called May Lane in Millendreath – honestly, I almost missed the turn because it feels more like a local secret than a typical tourist spot. The whole setup sits right between Looe proper and the quieter Millendreath Beach, which means you get the best of both worlds without the constant crowds that tend to swarm the main town center during peak season.

The apartments themselves are genuinely well-thought-out – I mean, whoever designed these actually understood that people want space to spread out when they’re on holiday. The ocean views aren’t just some marketing exaggeration either; from most units you can actually watch the tide come in and out, and on clear mornings (which happen more often than you’d expect in Cornwall) you can see fishing boats heading out before most people are even awake. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays here, even in July when Looe itself gets pretty hectic. The sound of waves sort of drowns out any road noise, and since you’re slightly removed from the main drag, you don’t get the late-night revelry that can keep you up in town.

Parking is actually sorted – which, if you’ve ever tried to park in Looe during summer, you’ll know is worth its weight in gold. The walk into town takes maybe ten minutes along the coastal path, and honestly, it’s one of those walks you don’t mind making because the scenery changes with the light throughout the day. There’s a little convenience shop at the Millendreath Beach Resort if you need basics, but for proper groceries or dinner out, you’ll want to head into Looe anyway. The local bus does run along this route, though I found walking more reliable – and more scenic, obviously. One thing to note: if you’re coming by train, the Looe Valley Line is charming but only runs hourly, so plan accordingly. The staff here seem to actually live locally (refreshing change from some places), so they know which restaurants to book ahead and which beaches are worth the trek when the main ones get crowded. That 9.1 rating makes sense when you experience the place – it’s not trying to be fancy, just genuinely comfortable and well-located for exploring this part of Cornwall properly.

  very well equipped kitchen, great mattress, very good location – you can´t wish for more – not far to the beach or the coastal path. My husband had forgotten his cap when we left. Chris and Maria immediately agreed to send it by post.
  
  What could be improved: Unfortunately, the studio does not have a direct view of the sea. This should perhaps be mentioned – we would have liked to have been in the upper flats with a great sea view.

  It’s in a great location, quiet beach on the doorstep. Can be busier in the weekend.
  Apartment was quaint and had all modern coms. It was in good condition and clean.
  Maria was absolutely brilliant, very welcoming. We forgot a toiletries bag and a blouse. With out hesitation this was send to our home address. Fantastic!
