Hotel Description
I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Ocean View in Marazion, I wasn’t expecting much from the name alone (I mean, half the hotels in Cornwall claim ocean views, right?). But stepping out of the car, you immediately get why this place earned that 9.4 rating. The hotel sits perfectly positioned so you’re literally looking straight across at St. Michael’s Mount, and I mean *really* looking at it, not squinting through some tiny window at a sliver of water.
The thing about Marazion is that it’s one of those places where location is absolutely everything, and Ocean View totally gets this. You’re maybe a two-minute walk to the causeway that leads to the Mount – honestly, you can watch the tide come in and out from your room and time your walk perfectly. The staff actually know the tide times off the top of their heads, which sounds small but makes such a difference when you’re planning your day. What really surprised me was how quiet it stays despite being right in the village center. The building itself seems to buffer most of the street noise, though you’ll still hear the occasional seagull having an absolute meltdown at dawn (but that’s Cornwall for you).
The rooms feel properly thought out rather than just decorated – like someone actually stayed in them before deciding where to put things. The beds are that perfect firmness where you sink in just enough, and the bathrooms have those little heated towel rails that you don’t realize you need until you’re wrapping yourself in a warm towel after a chilly coastal walk. I loved that they’ve managed to keep the character of what’s clearly an older building while making everything feel fresh and comfortable. The breakfast room has these big windows facing the water, and honestly, watching St. Michael’s Mount emerge from the morning mist while you’re working through a proper Cornish breakfast is pretty magical. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle during peak summer months – the hotel has a few spots but Marazion gets absolutely packed when the weather’s good, so I’d definitely ask about that when booking. The whole place just feels like someone who really loves this area decided to create the kind of hotel they’d want to stay in themselves, you know? It’s got that 4-star polish without feeling stuffy or impersonal, and the location means you’re perfectly positioned to explore the Mount, walk the South West Coast Path, or just sit with a drink and watch one of the most iconic views in Cornwall change with the light throughout the day.

Everything, location, the view, communication from the host and the apartment itself.
The welcome pack was such a thoughtful gift and a great way into experiencing the local produce. The apartment manual, which contained information on the local area was extremely helpful along with the notes regarding the apartment itself, anything we didn't know we were able to ask the host directly and this was a great way to ensure that the holiday was able to go as smoothly as possible.
I had previously read a "concern" regarding the two flights of stairs and yes there are two flights but they are very easy to navigate up and down and have a great incline to them so felt very easy to manoeuvre even with luggage another "concern" was the small car parking space. We have an Audi Q3 and managed to park, it was extremely tight getting in and out and you have to be mindful of the other people and the position of how you are parking but we made it work, someone who is not too confident on clutch control and who drives a large car I would probably not recommend the space but there are parking areas pretty close which I would still choose to use and stay here over not staying here.
The views! Well simply STUNNING and the whole apartment is bright, airy with beautiful vaulted ceilings and spotless!
We will be back and highly recommend it although I don't really want to as I would love to keep it as a secret just for us..

Fabulous Apartment with stunning views
Very clean & well equipped
Comfy beds!
Gorgeous area, and excellent to see the south of Cornwall
Really enjoyed the stay and would highly recommend
Will be back ❤
What could be improved: Tight to park in the car park, but that's because Cornwall wasn't built for cars!
All good anywayDawn from United Kingdom – 11 June 2023 (9/10)
to wake up in the morning and look out onto St Micheals Mount every morning the night time views wonderfull
What could be improved: Think the front door could do with a coat of paint looks a little unkempt from the front, stairs to apartment so only for the fit but did not worry us.Anonymous from United Kingdom – 15 April 2023 (7/10)
Amazing views and centrally located.
Plenty of space in living area.
What could be improved: 2 children on booking but beds made up as 1 double with no single quilt cover to be found. Tried to contact the agent but agent office was closed.
Property not cleaned to standard I would expect. Rubbish and plasters found on bedroom floor on arrival.Klaus from Germany – 15 April 2025 (8/10)
Sehr gepflegtes und gut ausgestattetes Apartment.
Enge Treppe bis in den 2. Stock fordert Kraft bei schweren Koffern.
Aussicht sehr schön, Fenster könnten tiefer sein.Anonymous from Canada – 10 September 2023 (10/10)
