Hotel Description

Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to Number 9 Rosemorran – it’s tucked away on Trewidden Road in what locals call The Belyars area, which is basically St Ives without the tourist madness. You know what struck me first? The quiet. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk into town (maybe 10-15 minutes if you don’t mind a bit of uphill on the way back), but you actually get to sleep at night without hearing drunk people stumbling around at 2 AM.

The apartment itself is properly done up – and I don’t mean that sterile, could-be-anywhere kind of nice. There’s real attention to detail here, like decent coffee supplies (thank god), windows that actually open properly, and a kitchen where you can make a real meal if you want to skip the overpriced harbour restaurants for a night. The living space feels generous too, which is saying something for Cornwall where most places seem designed for hobbits. What really sold me though was stepping out onto that little outdoor space – you catch glimpses of the sea between the houses, and on clear mornings you can see all the way across the bay. The owners clearly know this area well because they’ve left all these local recommendations that aren’t just the obvious touristy spots. They pointed me toward this brilliant little café on Fore Street that I never would’ve found otherwise.

Location-wise, you’re in that sweet spot where you feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than in a holiday bubble. The Belyars has this proper residential feel – you’ll see actual St Ives folks going about their day, not just visitors taking selfies. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle (welcome to Cornwall), but there’s usually space on the street if you’re not precious about walking a few minutes. The apartment building itself is well-maintained, and honestly, the neighbors are quiet – mostly seems to be other holiday lets and maybe a few locals. When you do want to dive into the St Ives chaos, you can walk down through the backstreets and avoid the worst of the crowds on the main roads. Plus you’re actually closer to some of the better beaches that day-trippers often miss – Porthgwidden is just a short wander, and it’s usually less packed than Porthmeor. I’d definitely stay here again, especially in summer when being slightly removed from the town center becomes a real blessing rather than a minor inconvenience.

    Lovely apartment. View amazing. Toasty and comfortable seating. Plenty of delph

    What could be improved: Would have appreciated some basic condiments left e.g. salt and pepper, oil etc. Plus a few more dishwasher tablets would have been helpful. Also we were surprised there was no recycling bins – just a general one.

    Spectacular views, great value for money. Good location. Clean. Plenty of games supplied. French doors to both the living area and main bedroom as well as ensure. Would stay here again in a heartbeat. Amazing holiday. Everyone enjoyed themselves and the added bonus of excellent weather

    – Great view. Walking distance to St Ives waterfront area, shopping, restaurants.
    – Lovely, comfortable 3-bedroom apartment. Beds were good. Kitchen was well-equiped.
    – Good prior communication with owners who provided plenty of recommendations, advice on things to do etc.
    – Quiet area and apartment complex.
    – Off-street parking.

    What could be improved: – The trade-off for the great view was the uphill walk from central St Ives. It wasn’t an issue for us but could be for guests with mobility issues or small children.
    – The ensuite shower was very small.
