Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the listing for this place, the name “Nice big 2 double bedroom Apartment in the Town” made me think someone’s mum had written it. But you know what? Sometimes the most straightforward descriptions are the most accurate ones, and this apartment in Newquay really is exactly that – nice, properly big, and right where you want to be.
The location is actually brilliant if you know Newquay at all. You’re basically in the sweet spot where you can walk to the main beaches without dealing with the absolute chaos of staying right on the seafront during peak season. I mean, don’t get me wrong – being steps from Fistral is tempting, but honestly, you’ll appreciate being able to get a decent night’s sleep when the surfers and hen parties are still going strong at 2am. From here, it’s maybe a ten-minute stroll down to the harbor area, and you can easily pop to the Co-op or grab proper fish and chips without having to navigate the tourist crowds every single time. The building itself feels solid – none of that flimsy seaside accommodation nonsense where you can hear every conversation through paper-thin walls.
What really won me over was the space, though. Those two double bedrooms are actually proper doubles, not the cramped affairs you sometimes get in coastal rentals where they’ve clearly just squeezed beds into whatever space they had. The living area has enough room to properly spread out, which matters more than you’d think when you’re dealing with sandy wetsuits and multiple people trying to get ready for dinner. The kitchen’s well-equipped too – I actually cooked a few meals instead of eating out every night, partly because the local Tesco is decent and partly because after a full day on the beach, sometimes you just want to collapse with a home-cooked meal and a bottle of wine. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this part of town (it’s Cornwall in summer, what do you expect?), but it’s manageable if you’re not precious about walking an extra few minutes. The 8.3 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury touches, but everything works properly, it’s clean, and the beds are actually comfortable. For a proper Newquay base where you can comfortably fit four adults without everyone getting on each other’s nerves, this place delivers exactly what it promises.

What could be improved: You have to do your homework. As location has delivery Lorries in the early hours of the morning. So that might not be for everyone.

I loved the location very central walking distance from pubs,takeaways,restaurants, beaches.
Apartment was spacious open plan clean well equipped for cooking.
Quiet considering it was above a shop.

The property was fine. The bathroom condition was due to incomplete window frame.
What could be improved: Nothing wrong with property. To good sized bedroom. The bathroom let it down. Area was like a beruit bomb site. Washing machines laying around outside. Very untidy. Great location and very week equiped unit. Very helpful owner. Situated in a very friendly safe and helpful neighbourhood.
What could be improved: Surprised by high level noise of a truck loading outside our window in the early morning on the first night. Ok after that.
