So I stayed at this refurbished apartment on Fish Strand Hill, and honestly? It’s one of those places that surprised me in the best way. You know how sometimes “newly refurbished” can mean they slapped some paint on the walls and called it a day – well, this actually felt thoughtfully done. The location is pretty much perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without dealing with the chaos of the main tourist strips. Fish Strand Hill is this quiet little street that connects to Strand Quay, so you’re literally a two-minute walk from the waterfront but tucked away enough that you’re not hearing drunk tourists stumbling home at 2 AM.
What really got me was how they managed to keep some of the building’s character while making it feel properly modern. The apartment itself is spacious – I mean, you can actually move around without bumping into furniture, which is rare for UK seaside places. The kitchen’s well-equipped (I made breakfast every morning because, let’s be honest, Falmouth breakfast prices can be brutal), and the windows let in this gorgeous light in the mornings. You can see bits of the harbor from certain angles, though it’s not exactly a panoramic sea view. The Wi-Fi actually works, which sounds basic but you’d be amazed how many places still struggle with that.
Here’s what I loved most though – you’re right in the heart of Falmouth’s best bits without paying harbor-view prices. Walk down to Strand Quay and you’ve got the Chain Locker pub (decent food, local crowd), plus easy access to the town’s galleries and shops. The Maritime Museum is practically around the corner, and if you’re into the whole Cornish art scene, you can walk to most galleries without breaking a sweat. Parking was actually manageable too – there’s a public car park nearby that won’t bankrupt you, unlike some of the seafront spots. The only minor thing I’d mention is that being in the town center means you’ll hear some street noise during the day, but it dies down pretty early in the evening. Overall, it’s got that sweet spot vibe – comfortable, well-located, and the kind of place where you feel like you’re experiencing Falmouth as locals do rather than being stuck in some generic tourist bubble. For a 4-star place with decent ratings, it delivers exactly what you’d hope for without any nasty surprises.

The location was absolutely 10/10 if you want to be in the center of Falmouth and the value for money was absolutely amazing for the location and facilities!

Clean functional and comfortable appartment. Very convenient, right in the middle of town. Well equipped modern kitchen and bathroom. Lovely shower. Very soft and luxurious towells. Handy to have washing machine and dryer provided.
What could be improved: Eventhough the description did say no wi-fi, I think it would benefit in providing this.
2/3 of the stools at breakfast bar needed screws tightening ( a bit unstable) and the towel ring in bathroom was loose. No hairdryer was available at time of stay. The location is excellent 👌 value for money 💰
What could be improved: The shower didn't seem to be working properly, and the tv aerial seems to need some attention. But these are small concerns.
