You know what caught me off guard about Museum Apartment? The name actually makes perfect sense once you’re there – it’s literally right across from Looe’s Old Guildhall Museum, and honestly, the place has this carefully curated feel that reminds me of staying in a really thoughtful exhibition. I mean that in the best way possible.
Church Street is basically the heart of old Looe, and this spot puts you maybe thirty seconds from the harbor if you walk at a leisurely pace (which you will, because the narrow streets practically force you to slow down and actually notice things). The apartment itself feels like someone who genuinely loves this town decided to create the perfect base for exploring it. The 4-star rating isn’t just about thread count and fancy toiletries – though those are definitely there – it’s more about all these little touches that show someone was actually thinking about what travelers need. The windows face the right direction to catch morning light without getting the afternoon glare, there’s proper counter space in the kitchen for spreading out maps or setting down coffee while you plan your day, and the wifi actually works reliably even when half of Looe seems to be streaming Netflix during rainy evenings.
What really sold me was the location’s sweet spot factor. You’re close enough to hear the seagulls and catch glimpses of boats bobbing in the harbor, but far enough up from the waterfront to avoid the late-night noise from the pubs – and trust me, Looe knows how to have a good time, especially during summer months. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this part of town (most of the streets date back to when horses were the main transportation), but they actually provide clear guidance about the nearest options instead of just leaving you to figure it out. The 9.3 rating makes sense when you add up all these practical considerations with the genuine charm of staying somewhere that feels connected to the town’s character rather than just dropped on top of it. Plus, if you’re planning to explore the coastal path or catch the ferry across to East Looe, you literally cannot get more convenient than this – though I’d suggest grabbing pasties from one of the bakeries on Fore Street for the walk, because once you start hiking along those cliffs, you’ll work up an appetite pretty quickly.

The apartment is in an excellent location, just a 1-minute walk from the central beach. The rooms are spacious and well-equipped with everything needed for a comfortable and relaxing holiday. It's very clean and cozy, creating a pleasant atmosphere. Parking is included in the price and conveniently located near the apartment.
What could be improved: The windows are small and face directly onto another building, limiting natural light and privacy.
