Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Mawgan Porth Apartments on Tredragon Road – the name makes it sound sort of generic, you know? But this place actually surprised me in the best way. It’s tucked just back from the main beach drag, which means you get that lovely quiet feeling without being miles from anything. I mean, you can literally hear the waves from most of the apartments, but you’re not dealing with the constant foot traffic that pounds past those right-on-the-beach places.
The apartments themselves feel properly lived-in rather than sterile – and I mean that as a compliment. Someone clearly thought about what you’d actually need for a Cornwall stay. The kitchens are well-stocked (decent knives, which is rarer than it should be), and there’s proper hanging space for wet suits and sandy towels. What really got me was the attention to local details – they’ve got recommendations for the fishmonger in St. Mawgan village and tide tables actually posted where you’ll see them. The Wi-Fi works brilliantly too, which matters if you’re trying to check surf reports or convince your boss you’re definitely not having more fun than you should be.
Location-wise, it’s pretty much perfect for exploring this stretch of coast. Mawgan Porth beach is obviously right there – great for families since it’s sheltered and has that reliable beach café (their bacon rolls are legendary, honestly). But you’re also just a quick drive from Watergate Bay if you want something more dramatic, and the coast path to Bedruthan Steps starts practically at your doorstep. Parking’s included, which saves you the headache of feeding meters or circling around looking for spaces during busy summer weekends. The only tiny gripe I’d have is that the apartments facing the road can get a bit of traffic noise in the mornings – nothing terrible, but the sea-facing ones are definitely quieter if you’re a light sleeper. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that awkward hanging around waiting for someone to show up. You can tell this place is run by people who actually understand what makes a holiday rental work well.

Could not recommend this place more! Beautiful clean, open, light apartment. Beautiful view, with a great size balcony. Beautifully furnished and everything we could have needed was there. The location was ideal and only a 2 minute walk to the beach and shops. Best booking.com place I have ever stayed at ! Thank you so much, we had the best holiday here !

We liked the location. Value for money. The place was clean .. It was lovely to sit on the balcony late afternoon. Soak in the wonderland view and watch the sun go down.

Lovely pet friendly apartment located a short walk to the beach and local amenities. Everything you need for a great break.
What could be improved: If you’re arriving in more than one car then be aware that you only have a single allocated parking space which can be an issue if all the apartments are busy. On street parking is limited but there is a paid carpark down by the beach.
