Hotel Description
Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to this place on Fore Street – you know how vacation rentals can be hit or miss from photos. But walking into this Marazion spot, I immediately got why it scores an 8.8 rating. The house has this lived-in charm that actually feels welcoming rather than sterile, and there’s enough space that our group of six never felt like we were stepping on each other’s toes.
What really sold me was the garden situation out back. I mean, most Cornwall rentals squeeze you onto a tiny patio, but this place has proper outdoor space where you can actually spread out with a bottle of wine after spending the day at St. Michael’s Mount (which, by the way, is literally right there – you can see it from parts of the house). The morning light hits the garden perfectly for coffee, and evenings are ideal for those long summer dinners that somehow stretch until 10 PM. Inside, the kitchen’s well-equipped enough that we could handle proper meals instead of living on takeaway, though honestly, the Godolphin Arms is just down the street if you want to skip cooking. The bedrooms are comfortable – not fancy, but you know, good beds and decent storage. The wifi actually works properly too, which isn’t always a given in these older Cornish houses.
Location-wise, you’re smack in the heart of Marazion village, which means you can walk to the causeway for St. Michael’s Mount at low tide (check the times – seriously, don’t get caught out there). Parking can be a bit of a dance during peak summer months since Fore Street gets busy with day-trippers, but there’s usually something within a short walk. The train station’s close enough that you could feasibly arrive without a car, though having one opens up the rest of West Cornwall – Penzance is ten minutes, St. Ives about twenty on a good day. What I appreciated most was how the place strikes that balance between being comfortable for a proper stay (good shower pressure, reliable heating) while keeping the character that makes Cornwall special. It’s not trying to be a luxury hotel, but it delivers on what matters: space to relax, a great location, and that feeling like you’re staying somewhere with actual personality rather than a generic rental.

Location was great. The house was very clean, felt newly refurbished. Heated towel rails useful , comfortable surroundings and well equipped.
What could be improved: Lack of drawers for clothes on top floor. Only one toilet, although we knew this before we booked, it was a problem, but not the owners fault. Top floor bedroom banged our heads a number of times as bed position in the only space where you can stand up straight. Step to the outside was split. We had a large car and unable to fit down the narrow street to the car park. Cost £55 for long stay car park.Philip from United Kingdom – 6 October 2023 (9/10)
Clean, tidy and very comfortable…. Property offers 3 bedrooms, 2 of them with double beds. Located within walking distance to the town centre with ample places to eat and drink.
What could be improved: Access to parking is awkward and is easiest if you approach it as if coming downhill in to the town rather than from town.Eugen from United Kingdom – 27 June 2023 (9/10)
What did you like?
Simple question:
House 11/10 stars 🌟
Parking: if you have minimum 6 months experience of driving you can park your car ( we have vw passat/nissan qashqai) easily there.
Beautiful, thank you for this house in this small town.
What could be improved: I love this house and what i can say for a "-" of this house and i UNDERSTAND but it's like an advice it's only 1 wc for 3 bedroom (6 person) but if you are not a "king or princess" is ok.
Thank you again.Karen from United Kingdom – 5 June 2024 (8/10)
It’s a lovely house, beautifully presented and well equipped kitchen, in a good location. Great to have parking (for small cars, as other reviewers mentioned). Great to have the outdoor space too. The hosts were super responsive to any problems, we were very impressed.
What could be improved: The mattress in the master bedroom wasn’t at all comfortable but the host provided a mattress topper very promptly. This made it more bearable, but we are used to having a really good mattress at home. We were very grateful to Hayley for her quick response. We forgot to mention that we couldn’t find any bbq tools, we ended up cooking it in the oven, it wasn’t a problem.Livia from United Kingdom – 6 June 2023 (3/10)
the house is decorated to a high standard
What could be improved: nearly got stuck with our car trying to park where the parking space was, so ended up using the long stay in the village
no garden furniture, or bbq as advertised on arrival
dishwasher turned on with really soiled dishes, had to restart several times
one of the showers not workingJürgen from Austria – 22 April 2025 (9/10)
Schöne große Dachterrasse – viel Platz im Haus! Tolle Küche!
