Hotel Description
Honestly, when I first pulled up to Godrevy Terrace, I wasn’t expecting much – I mean, the name “Luxurious apartment” seemed a bit try-hard, you know? But then I walked into this place and just… wow. Those 180° beach views aren’t marketing fluff – you’re literally perched above Porthmeor Beach with this sweeping panorama that stretches from the Godrevy Lighthouse all the way around the bay. I spent my first morning just standing at the windows with coffee, watching the surfers catch waves below while the light shifted across the water.
What really got me was how this apartment actually feels like someone’s carefully curated home rather than a sterile rental. The kitchen has proper equipment (not those sad hotel coffee makers), and there’s this lovely reading nook where you can watch the sunset paint the sky orange and pink. The parking spot – and trust me, this is huge in St Ives – is right there, which saved me from the nightmare of circling the narrow streets looking for a space. During summer, finding parking in town is basically a blood sport, so having your own spot is worth its weight in gold. The walk down to the Tate St Ives takes maybe three minutes, and you’re right in the thick of the gallery quarter without dealing with the chaos of the harbor area.
I’ll be honest, the seagulls can be pretty vocal in the mornings – it’s Cornwall, after all – but there’s something oddly charming about waking up to the sound of waves and gulls rather than traffic. The apartment’s positioned perfectly to catch the evening light, and I found myself timing my return from exploring just to watch the day wind down from that incredible vantage point. You’re close enough to slip down to Barbara Hepworth’s sculpture garden when the crowds thin out, yet far enough from the main tourist drag that you’re not dealing with constant foot traffic outside your window. It’s that sweet spot where you feel connected to everything St Ives offers without being overwhelmed by it – which, let’s face it, can happen pretty quickly in peak season.
