Hotel Description

You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from a place with such a straightforward name, but this first-floor flat in St. Agnes actually surprised me in the best way. The moment you walk in, there’s this immediate sense of… well, homeliness I guess – and I mean that in a good way, not like your aunt’s cluttered spare room. The woodstove is the real star here, honestly. On those typical Cornish evenings when the sea mist rolls in and you can hear the wind picking up, getting that fire going transforms the whole place into this incredibly cozy retreat. The balcony overlooks the village in a way that makes you feel properly settled into St. Agnes rather than just passing through like most tourists do.

What really sold me on this place was how thoughtfully set up everything is. The parking situation – which, let’s be honest, can be a nightmare in these old Cornish villages – is actually sorted here, and it’s close enough that you’re not hauling luggage down narrow streets. I mean, anyone who’s tried to navigate these medieval lane systems with a week’s worth of stuff knows how much this matters. The flat itself has this lived-in quality that vacation rentals often lack; you get the sense someone actually cares about the details rather than just cramming in IKEA furniture and calling it done. The kitchen’s properly equipped too, which is crucial when you’re staying somewhere like St. Agnes where you might want to cook the fresh crab or fish you’ve picked up from the harbor rather than eating out every night.

Location-wise, you’re perfectly positioned to explore both the rugged north coast and the slightly gentler south without feeling like you’re constantly driving. St. Agnes has this authentic Cornish character that places like Padstow have sort of lost to tourism – don’t get me wrong, Padstow’s lovely, but St. Agnes still feels real. You can walk to the village center in minutes, grab supplies, chat with locals who’ve lived here their whole lives, then come back to your balcony with a proper cup of tea and watch the light change over the rooftops. The 9.3 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here; it’s one of those places that delivers exactly what it promises without any pretense. Plus, and this might sound silly, but there’s something deeply satisfying about lighting that woodstove in the evening after a day exploring the coastal path – it’s like the perfect full stop to a proper Cornish day.

location, newly renovated, excellent shower water pressure

  • William from United Kingdom – 14 May 2025 (10/10)

This was a self-catering flat, but you are spoilt for choice in St Agnes for fantastic places to eat, from bakeries, coffee shops, pubs, take-aways and restaurants. St Agnes is a beautiful place to stay and the flat was perfect for couples exploring. Note, the flat has no allocated parking, but there is a car park nearby, although we always managed to park on the street without any issue (peak season maybe different). Will definitely stay again

What could be improved: Nothing of note

What could be improved: Nothing, it was perfect

  • Hayley from United Kingdom – 7 April 2025 (10/10)

Fabulous flat in the heart of St Agnes. Easy access to all amenities.
Flat itself was lovely. Super clean, nicely decorated and very comfortable. Had everything you would need for a break here.
Host very helpful indeed and quick to respond to any enquiries.
Would definitely recommend. Will be returning on our next stay here

  • Lianne from United Kingdom – 5 January 2025 (10/10)

    Lovely location, spacious, well equipped

What could be improved: Nothing, there is one set of stairs so worth noting if stairs are an issue

  • Lucy from United Kingdom – 1 January 2025 (10/10)

Gorgeous, well equipped flat in the centre of St Agnes – a perfect location. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. Very comfortable bed and a good shower. We enjoyed evenings in by the wood burner and had Indian & Pizza take away as well as drinks in the St Agnes Hotel – a few steps away from the flat.

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Kris from Australia – 29 September 2024 (9/10)

Cosy flat, well equipped and excellent location

What could be improved: Stairs are very steep and bathroom sink was hard to use as it’s so tiny – not deal breakers, just handy to know.

  • Peter from United Kingdom – 24 September 2024 (8/10)

    Very smart modern clean property.

What could be improved: I’m allergic to duck down (feathers) so used blanket from the settee. Wasn’t an issue as the weather was mild and the bed was very comfortable indeed.
I opened the trickle vents on the double glazing as it did feel a little damp on occasions. (Common problem with well insulated properties).

  • Nina from United Kingdom – 12 November 2024 (9/10)

Great location and super comfy. Good communication too.

Lounge / kitchen diner area was very roomy and the sofa was very comfortable, as was the king size bed. A nice big shower too.

What could be improved: Nothing – it was all good.

Although there isn’t much room to dry down a dog in the entrance hall, I managed it well, with a Labrador sized dog.
