Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of holiday flats around Cornwall, and this place on Pentire Crescent honestly surprised me in the best way. You know that feeling when you walk into somewhere and immediately think “oh, this is actually nice” – not just clean and functional, but genuinely comfortable? That’s exactly what happened here at Tre Lowen.
The location is what really makes this work, though. You’re literally a three-minute walk to Fistral Beach – I mean, you can hear the waves from the flat when the wind’s right, which is pretty magical if you ask me. But here’s the thing everyone misses about this area: you’re positioned perfectly between the tourist chaos down by the beach and the quieter residential streets. So you get easy access to all the surf shops and cafes along Fistral Road, but you can actually get some sleep at night (trust me, this matters during summer when half of Devon seems to descend on Newquay). The flat itself feels like someone actually lives there rather than just cycles through endless holiday renters – there’s proper kitchen equipment, decent WiFi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and honestly, the beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d wrestled a pillow all night.
What I really appreciated was the practical stuff that makes a difference when you’re actually staying somewhere for more than a night. There’s parking right there, which might not sound exciting until you’ve spent forty minutes driving around Newquay in August looking for a space. The shower has proper pressure – again, small thing but you notice it after a day on the beach. And the living area is big enough that you’re not climbing over each other if it rains and you’re stuck inside (which, let’s be honest, happens in Cornwall even in summer). The whole place just feels well-maintained rather than grudgingly functional. I mean, you can tell the owners actually care about the property instead of just seeing it as a money-maker. Even little touches like having enough towels and proper curtains that actually block out light – these things matter when you’re on holiday. The 9.7 rating makes complete sense once you’ve been there, because it delivers on what it promises without any nasty surprises. If you’re looking for somewhere to base yourself in Newquay that’s close enough to everything but far enough from the madness, this is honestly one of the better options I’ve found.

Beautifully clean and tidy, equipped with everything you need for a short stay. Clear instructions from the host, easy access – great to get a message that the flat was ready a few hours before check in. parking was perfect. Bedding and towels were good quality, dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid left by host small things that make a difference ! A wonderful base for a few family nights in Fistral.

Great location. Extremely clean and so comfortable. Information given on time, for an easy self check in and self check out. Only few minutes away from the beach. Everything you need is provided, all you have to take with you is your family and the willingness to enjoy beautiful Newquay. Definitely will come back.
