You know what struck me first about Langunnett Cottage? It’s actually tucked away on Saint Martin’s Road in a spot where you feel like you’ve discovered something the cruise ship crowds haven’t found yet. I mean, Looe gets absolutely mental during summer holidays, but this little place feels removed from all that chaos while still being close enough that you can walk down to the harbor in about ten minutes.

The cottage itself is one of those proper Cornish stone buildings that’s clearly been around forever but has been done up really thoughtfully – no cheap laminate or garish paint colors trying to be “coastal themed.” The owners clearly know what they’re doing because everything just works. The kitchen’s got proper gear (not those useless mini-fridges you usually get), there’s actually decent water pressure in the shower, and honestly, the WiFi was better than what I have at home. What I really loved though was how quiet it gets at night – you’re just far enough up from the main tourist drag that you don’t get the late-night revelers stumbling back from the pubs, but you can still hear the gulls in the morning and catch glimpses of the water through the trees.

The location is brilliant if you know Cornwall at all. You’re walking distance from both East and West Looe (the bridge between them is always packed with people taking photos), but you can also easily get to some of the better coastal walks without having to drive through town. The South West Coast Path picks up just down the hill, and there’s this little section toward Talland Bay that most people miss – absolutely gorgeous on a clear day. Parking’s included too, which is honestly worth its weight in gold in Looe during peak season. I’ve seen people circle for an hour looking for a spot near the harbor. The cottage comes with a 9.8 rating and after staying there, I get it completely. It’s not trying to be fancy or Instagram-perfect, it’s just a really well-run place that feels like someone’s put actual thought into what travelers need. The check-in was seamless, everything was spotless, and they’d left some local information that was actually useful – not just glossy brochures, but proper recommendations for where to get the best pasties and which beaches are swimmable depending on the tide.

  This is a truly amazing find. So well thught out. From the little touches to the taste of an amazing bathroom. We went with 5 adults and we all had so much room and privacy. . Compy beds , amazing rooms. Great decor. We didnt want to leave. We will be back.
  
  What could be improved: The only down side is the steep drive when wet.. we had alot of rain , and lots of wheel spinning . 🤣

  This was the best experience we ever had away from home. We didn't feel like guests we felt at home. It was very hard for us to leave and will definitely come back. The cottage was exceptional and Sam and Tim are best hosts we have ever encountered.

  We loved everything about it, the accommodation was beautiful and had EVERYTHING you could possibly want or need. The most comfortable bed ever and the most beautiful views!
  
  What could be improved: My only tiny gripe was the wifi password didn't work and the walk/drive up and down the drive was a little scary but it didn't spoil our stay. You don't need wifi, just look at the views, could sit there for a week just looking!

  We enjoyed a lovely stay in Langunnett Cottage. It is ideally located close to the coastal town of Looe and it has great views over the East Looe River. The cottage is clean, modern, comfortable and very well-equipped both inside and on the outside decking. Our hosts, Sam & Tim, were very friendly and helpful and they made us feel very welcome. We would not hesitate to book Langunnett Cottage again in the future.
