Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places along the Cornish coast, but this lodge on Holywell View actually gets it right. You know that feeling when you walk into a place and immediately think “okay, someone here knows what they’re doing”? That’s exactly what happened here. The location is honestly perfect – you’re tucked into Newperran Holiday Resort, which sounds a bit corporate but is actually quite lovely, and you get these incredible dual views that most places can only dream of.

The sea views are the real deal, not some tiny sliver you have to crane your neck to glimpse. From the main rooms, you’re looking out over proper Cornish coastline, and on clear days (which happen more often than you’d expect around Newquay), it’s absolutely stunning. But here’s what caught me off guard – the country views on the other side are equally gorgeous. Rolling green fields that stretch inland, dotted with those classic Cornish stone walls. I mean, you could honestly face either direction and be perfectly content. The contrast is striking too; you’ve got this dramatic coastline on one side and peaceful countryside on the other. It’s like getting two completely different holidays in one spot.

What really impressed me was how well they’ve thought through the practical stuff. Parking is straightforward – no circling around narrow village streets trying to squeeze into impossible spaces like you get in some of the more touristy parts of Newquay. The check-in was refreshingly smooth, and the staff actually knew the area well enough to give proper recommendations (not just the obvious tourist traps). The rooms themselves feel genuinely comfortable rather than just styled for photos. Good lighting where you need it, decent storage space, and – this matters more than people realize – proper blackout options for those summer mornings when the sun’s up at 5 AM.

The whole setup works particularly well if you’re trying to balance beach time with exploring inland Cornwall. Holywell Beach is practically on your doorstep, and it’s one of the better stretches of sand around here – less crowded than the main Newquay beaches but still with that proper Atlantic surf feel. When you want a change of pace, the countryside access means you can be walking through quiet farmland or hitting up local villages within minutes. I actually ended up spending more time than planned just wandering the coastal paths and inland trails, which you can access directly from the resort area.

Honestly, with a 9.5 rating, I was half expecting to find some obvious flaw that everyone was overlooking, but I genuinely struggled to find anything worth complaining about. The place delivers on its promises without any of that overselling you get from so many coastal accommodations. It’s the sort of spot where you find yourself already planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out.

  We loved everything about this lodge and our holiday. The lodge is huge, there were four of us and our little dog. The decor and layout is beautiful. All the kitchen and bathroom appliances are top tier.
  Erika is a wonderful host. From the moment I booked, she has communicated with me, answering all my questions. There was something extra special about this holiday, not only was it for our sons 14th birthday, but my mum said she felt more relaxed than when she goes to Jamacia (twice a year).
  The lodge is in a great location and the grounds are clean and well kept. We had a wonderful time, and will be booking for next year.

  Home from home everything is there for you to use even an air fryer if you wanted to cook.

  It was very modern, clean, comfortable and relaxing with a lovely view of the sea from the living room. There was a lovely outdoor area and plenty of parking for two cars at the side of the property. I loved the double bedroom feature of a large wardrobe that was actually a second bathroom and walk in wardrobe. Plenty of space for the 4 of us! When we visit again we would be sure to stay here!
  
  What could be improved: Nothing at all. Even the drives to Newquay and nearby towns are straightforward and short from this location. I have no complaints.

  Lovely lodge, absolutley recommend it. Clean, practical and had everything we needed for a week long stay. Would certainly book again should we visit the area in future. Andrew was very responsive to communications and helpful too. If looking for a self-contained home away from home when on holiday, book this place.

  Bardzo podobała się nam kuchnia w domu, i sypialnie. Domek miał Wszystkie udogodnienia. Czułeś się jak u siebie w domu.
