Hotel Description

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Little Treamble Holidays in Cubert, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. The name sounds almost too quaint, you know? But honestly, this place surprised me in the best way possible. It’s tucked away in this proper Cornish village that most people drive straight through on their way to Newquay (which is only about ten minutes down the road, by the way). The thing about Cubert is that it’s got this authentic feel that hasn’t been completely overrun by tourists yet – though I suspect that might change once more people discover gems like this.

What really got me was how the owners actually seem to care about the details that matter. I mean, sure, it’s got that 4-star polish you’d expect, but there’s something more personal about it. The parking situation is actually decent – not always a given in Cornwall, trust me – and when I checked in, the staff knew exactly which room would be quietest (apparently the ones facing away from the main road through the village). They were right, too. I slept like a baby, even though I’m usually pretty sensitive to noise. The rooms themselves have this lovely balance between modern comfort and that cozy Cornish cottage vibe you’re probably hoping for. Nothing feels forced or themed to death, if you catch my drift. You’ll find those little touches that make you think someone’s grandmother might have lived here – proper thick curtains, decent tea-making facilities (not those tiny hotel kettles that take forever), and windows that actually open properly for fresh air.

What’s brilliant about staying here is that you’re genuinely in the heart of Cornwall without the madness of the bigger coastal towns. Cubert’s got a couple of proper pubs within walking distance, and you’re literally a stone’s throw from some absolutely stunning coastal walks. The South West Coast Path runs right nearby, and honestly, some of the best stretches are the ones tourists don’t even know about. Plus, if you fancy a proper beach day, you can hit Holywell Bay or Perran Sands without dealing with the Newquay crowds – though let’s be real, summer weekends will still be busy anywhere along this coast. The staff here seem to get that balance between being helpful and not hovering, and they’ve got solid recommendations for everything from where to grab the best pasty (not the tourist traps) to which beaches are best for families versus the ones where you might actually find a quiet spot to read a book. With a 9.5 rating, you’d expect something special, and Little Treamble actually delivers on that promise without feeling pretentious about it.

  • Michael from United Kingdom – 1 June 2025 (10/10)

    Beautiful location.
Beautifully appointed and spacious mobile home. Very well equipped with just about all we needed for our stay which was 2 vans accommodating 5 adults and 3 kids.
Lovely shower and plentiful hot water.
Complimentary arrival essentials, tea, coffee and milk.
Spotlessly clean with good bedding and towels.
Easy access to Newquay and Perranporth and beyond.

What could be improved: Mattress was new but far too soft for us personally otherwise would be 10/10 on every point. Wouldn’t stop us booking again however.

    exceptionally clean!

  • Shelim from United Kingdom – 28 August 2022 (10/10)

Top of the range static caravans, very clean, extremely friendly service, beautiful location

What could be improved: No Wi-Fi

  • Tamasine from United Kingdom – 13 August 2024 (8/10)

Well maintained site which was very quiet.
Caravan was clean and reasonably well equipped.

What could be improved: It was advertised that there is a shop and bar on site which contributed to our reason for booking (given the otherwise pretty remote location). Both were shut during our stay due to a lack of staff. It would have been good to have known this in advance.

The caravan was dog friendly but there was no enclosed outdoor space. If the decking area was gated, as was the case with some of the other caravans, that would have made things even better.
