Callington sits right on the edge of Bodmin Moor, which means you get proper countryside views without being completely cut off from civilization. What I really appreciated is how the hotel feels like a peaceful retreat, but you’re actually only about 20 minutes from Tavistock if you need shops or restaurants. The location scored 8.8 with recent guests, and I can see why — it’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’ve escaped without the hassle of being truly remote. Couples seem to love it here, probably because there’s something romantic about having all that open moorland practically on your doorstep.

The Accommodation

My room was exactly what you’d want from a place like this — comfortable without being fussy, with those little touches that show someone’s actually thought about what travelers need. The windows frame the countryside perfectly, and honestly, I spent way too much time just looking out at the rolling hills.
