You know what struck me first about Linton Luxury Holiday Home? It’s tucked away in these actual working orchards just outside Mevagissey – I mean, you’re literally staying among the apple trees at Linton Lavorrick Orchards. When I pulled up (plenty of parking, thank god, because Cornwall can be a nightmare for that), I could smell the fruit blossoms and hear absolutely nothing except birds. It’s one of those places where you immediately feel your shoulders drop.
The thing about Mevagissey is that everyone rushes straight to the harbor – which, fair enough, it’s gorgeous – but staying out here at the orchards means you get the best of both worlds. You’re maybe a ten-minute walk into the village proper, down these narrow lanes where you’ll pass maybe two cars if you’re unlucky. I actually loved the evening walks back after dinner at one of the harbor restaurants, especially when the light starts going golden over St. Austell Bay. The holiday home itself really lives up to that “luxury” billing without being stuffy about it. Everything just works perfectly – the kitchen’s actually equipped for proper cooking (sharp knives! enough counter space!), the beds are the kind you sink into and don’t want to leave, and honestly, the attention to detail is spot-on. Little things like really good coffee in the welcome pack and towels that are genuinely fluffy, not those thin scratchy ones you sometimes get. The views from the main living area look out over the orchard and toward the coast – you can catch glimpses of the sea between the trees, which changes completely depending on the weather and time of day.
What really makes this place special though is how quiet it gets at night. I’m talking proper countryside quiet – no traffic, no neighbors slamming doors, just the occasional owl or rustle in the orchard. Perfect if you’re coming from London or any big city and your nervous system needs a proper reset. During the day, you’re close enough to explore the Eden Project (about twenty minutes by car) or hit the coastal path – there’s a fantastic stretch that runs from Mevagissey toward Gorran Haven that most tourists miss. The owners clearly know the area well too; they left recommendations that felt genuinely useful rather than just the obvious tourist spots. I mean, that 9.7 rating makes total sense when you experience the whole package – it’s the kind of place where everything just clicks, and you find yourself already planning your next visit before you’ve even checked out.

The accommodation and Megavissey village were excellent. We loved the Lost Gardens of Heligan and the beautiful walks in the area.

Beautiful location – 10 mins walk to the harbour in Mevagissey ( bit longer back up the steep hill!)and 10mins to the beach too. The house is immaculately clean and very well equipped. A lovely deck to read and watch the sunset as well as a nice glazed porch for reading when it gets a bit breezy. We loved our holiday here.

Linton Luxury Holiday Home certainly lives up to its name. The location is perfect for both walking or driving into Mevagissey and other locations in Cornwall. The home itself has everything. The views are wonderful from the living room and two front bedrooms. Our bed was comfortable as was the seating in the living room. The kitchen is well equipped and has everything you need! You could definitely stay here for a couple of weeks easily. We even managed to sit out on the patio with a glass of wine one day which for March was amazing. Yes there is a steep hill into Mevagissey but well worth the effort and the recommendations of restaurants etc from Caroline and Mike were spot on! For anyone who cannot make the walk, it is a short drive and out of season parking isn't a problem. We received a warm welcome from Caroline who called round to see we had everything we needed despite having just returned from holiday. My husband and I would definitely recommend Linton both to couples and families.

Very good location and lots of privacy. House is very well equipped with everything and is very cosy and comfortable. We enjoyed the terraces and the views. Parking is also available in the property. Bed is very comfortable and shower great.
