I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to this holiday home on Trevelgue Road, I wasn’t expecting much. The address sounds pretty standard for Porth, but honestly, the location turned out to be one of those perfectly positioned spots that locals probably keep quiet about. You’re literally five minutes from Porth beach (and I mean actually five minutes, not that “five minutes” that somehow takes twenty when you’re lugging beach gear and the kids are complaining).

What really struck me was how the place sits just far enough back from the main tourist chaos but close enough that you can still hear the waves on quiet evenings. The house itself has that solid, well-maintained feel – you know, the kind where someone actually cares about the property rather than just cramming in as many beds as possible. The 4-star rating feels spot-on; it’s not trying to be some fancy boutique place, but everything works properly and there’s clearly been thought put into making guests comfortable. I mean, there’s decent parking (which anyone who’s driven around Porth in summer will tell you is worth its weight in gold), and the check-in was refreshingly straightforward.

You know what I really appreciated? The little local touches that showed someone familiar with the area set this place up. The kitchen actually has proper equipment if you want to cook – not just the bare minimum – and there are beach towels that don’t look like they’ve seen better days. From the house, you’re perfectly positioned to explore beyond just Porth beach too. Watergate Bay is maybe ten minutes if you fancy the bigger waves and busier café scene, but honestly, Porth’s charm is in being that bit more relaxed. The local pub down the road does decent food (though it gets packed during peak season), and there’s a small shop that covers the basics without having to drive into Newquay every time you need milk. The 9.3 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s one of those places where everything just works without any drama, which is exactly what you want when you’re trying to actually relax. The beds are comfortable, the shower has proper pressure, and there’s enough space that you don’t feel cramped even if the weather keeps you inside for a bit.

  On the first day it was raining so we were a little bit disappointed but we really enjoyed the indoor pool This is very nice when the weather is bad our daughter really loved to enjoy the pool
  Short walk to the beach you can drive to stores Aldi Salisbury asada and more
  We were visiting more than 5 beaches around Newquay and Port beach
  The caravan is very comfortable and the owner is provided everything we need all instructions are very clear and easy to get in
