You know what caught me off guard about Fistral View? I was expecting just another decent seaside hotel, but honestly, this place actually gets the whole Newquay experience right. Walking up Tower Road – which, let me tell you, is a bit of a climb from the town center but totally worth it – you can already hear the waves crashing at Fistral Beach below. The hotel sits in this perfect spot where you’re close enough to stumble back from a night out on Fore Street, but far enough up the hill that you’re not dealing with the chaos of drunk surfers at 2 AM.

The moment I stepped into my room, I mean, that view just hits you. They’re not kidding with the name – you can see straight across to Fistral Beach, and if you’re lucky enough to snag one of the front-facing rooms, you’ll spend way too much time just watching the surf conditions change throughout the day. I actually found myself checking the waves from my window each morning instead of using the surf apps like usual. The rooms themselves are properly done up – not trying too hard to be boutique-y, but clearly someone put thought into the details. Good shower pressure (crucial after a day in the salt), decent WiFi that actually works, and they’ve managed to soundproof things well enough that you won’t hear every footstep in the hallway.

What really sold me on this place, though, was how the staff seemed to actually know Newquay. When I asked about the best time to hit Fistral for a surf session, the guy at reception didn’t just point toward the beach – he told me about the tide times, mentioned that the early morning crew tends to be more serious surfers if I wanted to avoid the surf school crowds, and even suggested checking out Towan Beach if Fistral was too packed. That’s the kind of local insight you just don’t get at the chain hotels down by the harbor. Parking can be a bit tight during peak summer – there’s a small lot, but if you’re visiting in July or August, you might end up street parking on the residential roads nearby. Not a huge deal, but worth knowing. The walk into town takes maybe 10 minutes, and there’s this little shortcut through some side streets that cuts it down to 7 if you don’t mind a slightly steeper descent. Honestly, for a 4-star place with a 9 rating, Fistral View delivers on both fronts – it’s got that polished feel without being stuffy, and the location is just spot-on for anyone who wants to experience Newquay properly rather than just passing through.

  Great spacious house over 3 floors, with the well equips kitchen/living area on the top floor taking advantage of the amazing views over Fistral. Four very spacious bedrooms & 2 bathrooms.

  Perfect location, the beach and town within walking distance. The house was clean, tidy and had everything we needed for our stay.
  The outdoor shower was a bonus for when we spent a day on the beach to shower off/clean our wetsuits.

  – big fridge freezer to store food to cook at accommodation
  – fully stocked kitchen with pans and every kitchen utensils needed
  – owner is lovely. Was helpful and fast replying. Allowed slightly earlier check in

  Fistral View is in a great location – 5 mins walk to town and 10 mins walk to Fistral beach. Car parking came with the accommodation really close by (car park also had an EV charger).
  This town house is very clean and comfy with a well equipped kitchenette.
  Before and during our stay the host was quick to answer any questions and provide info

  Ideal location with a lovely view.
  Enough space for a large group.
  Lovely bottle of wine left when we arrived- thanks!

  What could be improved: The property sleeps 8 but there weren’t 8 chairs around the dining table.
  There also wasn’t enough of the same glasses for 8 people (one Prosecco glass and I think about 3 wine glasses)
  Quite a lot of food left in the freezer, we did a food delivery and struggled to fit our stuff in.
