You know what struck me first about Falcon Terrace? It’s one of those places where you can tell someone actually cares about the details. I mean, we’re talking about a Victorian terrace house that’s been turned into a proper boutique hotel, and honestly – they nailed it. The building sits right on this quiet residential street in Bude, which is perfect because you get that authentic Cornwall feel without the tourist chaos that hits the main drag during summer.
The thing about Bude is that it’s not your typical seaside resort town (though the beaches are absolutely gorgeous). Falcon Terrace gets this – they’ve created something that feels more like staying at a well-traveled friend’s beautifully renovated home rather than some cookie-cutter hotel. The rooms have this lovely mix of period features and modern comfort that actually works. I’m talking original cornicing and sash windows, but also proper rainfall showers and beds that don’t leave you counting sheep all night. What really impressed me was the attention to sound insulation – Victorian houses can be echo chambers, but you’d hardly know there are other guests around.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to explore properly. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Bude’s fantastic sandy beaches, and the South West Coast Path is right there when you fancy a proper cliff-top walk. But here’s what the guidebooks don’t tell you – you’re also perfectly positioned for hitting up places like The Barrel at Bude for excellent seafood (locals actually eat there, which says everything), and the Saturday farmers market is just around the corner. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in Bude during peak season, but Falcon Terrace has sorted that out, which removes one of those little travel stresses that can make or break a trip. The staff seem to actually know the area too – not just the obvious tourist spots, but where to catch the best sunset views or which beaches are less crowded when the weather’s good. That 9.1 rating makes complete sense when you experience the whole package together.

Location was excellent; close to canal and beach. Having a parking space was very convenient.
Showers were powerful. Kitchen was well equipped. Comfortable lounge. Large dining table. Super crisp sheets!

Great location, easy access to the town and beach. Added bonus to have parking right outside. The property was very clean and well decorated. The bathrooms and kitchen were spotlessly clean. The beds were comfortable and we had two good nights sleep. Easy access with a key code safe facility. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again.

Spacious, comfortable accommodation very near the centre of Bude. Parking is tight on the drive but there are no restrictions on the road so that helped.

Great location and private parking spot a great bonus. Loads of space and well appointed kitchen. Little conservatory was lovely to sit and read a book. It was Easter weekend and we were able to cook a roast and do a bit of baking without any trouble – much better kitchen than most holiday rentals. Great to have 2 good bathrooms. Would have been good to use the open fire in cooler months.
What could be improved: The WiFi was a bit poor and as walls quite thick the 4G was weak as well. We ended up sitting by the canal to do some on line chores.

Loved the location, cleanliness, comfort and space- this was suprisingly big! Well equipped kitchen allowed us to bake as well as cook. Wonderful layout and woke up feeling rested and relaxed each day. Looking forward to coming again
