Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to F24 Glenara in Riviere Towans, I wasn’t expecting much. The address sounds a bit corporate, you know? But this place actually surprised me in the best way. It’s tucked into this lovely development that feels more like a proper Cornwall retreat than your typical holiday accommodation. The 4-star rating isn’t just for show either – they’ve clearly put thought into the details that actually matter when you’re trying to unwind.

What really got me was how quiet it is, especially considering you’re still close enough to Hayle to grab proper groceries or hit up one of those brilliant little cafes on Foundry Square. The Towans area itself is this hidden gem that most tourists blow past on their way to St. Ives, which honestly works in your favor. You get those incredible dune walks – I mean, the beach access here is ridiculous – without fighting crowds for a decent spot to put your towel down. The accommodation itself feels surprisingly spacious, and I loved that they didn’t go overboard with that generic seaside theme you see everywhere. It’s tasteful, comfortable, and the kind of place where you can actually spread out your stuff without feeling cramped.

The thing that really sealed it for me though was the practical stuff that hotels often mess up. Parking’s sorted without any drama, the check-in was refreshingly straightforward, and – this might sound silly – but the water pressure was actually decent. You know how some places look amazing in photos but then you’re standing under a sad trickle of lukewarm water? Not here. Plus, if you’re into exploring, you’re perfectly positioned for day trips. Carbis Bay is a quick drive when you want something livelier, but you can also hit the South West Coast Path literally from your doorstep if you’re feeling ambitious. The 9.1 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there – it’s one of those places that just gets the balance right between being polished enough to feel special but relaxed enough that you’re not worried about putting your feet up. I’d definitely book it again, which says something since I’m usually the type to try somewhere new every time.
