You know what struck me first about Endcliffe? It’s tucked away on Gyllyngvase Road in this perfect spot where you’re literally a two-minute walk from one of Cornwall’s best beaches, but somehow it feels completely private and peaceful. I mean, Gyllyngvase Beach is gorgeous – proper sandy stretch with those incredible turquoise waters that make you forget you’re in Britain – and most hotels either stick you right on the seafront where it’s all crowds and seagulls at 6am, or they’re so far back you need a taxi. This place gets the balance just right.

The flat itself is honestly stunning, and I’m not just saying that because of the 9.8 rating (though that should tell you something). Everything feels carefully chosen rather than just expensive for the sake of it. The kitchen actually has proper equipment – not those tiny tourist rental pans that can barely handle beans on toast – and the whole space has this calm, sophisticated vibe without being stuffy. What really got me was the attention to detail… good coffee, decent wifi that actually works, those little touches that show someone who really understands what travelers need. The bathroom’s lovely too, with one of those rainfall showers that makes you not want to leave. Parking was straightforward, which if you’ve ever tried to navigate Falmouth’s narrow streets with a car full of holiday luggage, you’ll appreciate more than you know.

But here’s what makes Endcliffe special – it’s the location within the location, if that makes sense. You’re in Falmouth, which is brilliant (the town’s got this perfect mix of working harbor, art galleries, and proper Cornish pubs), but you’re on the quieter Gyllyngvase side rather than the main town bustle. Walk five minutes toward the harbor and you’re at the Chain Locker for the best fish and chips, or head the other way to Swanvale Nature Reserve when you need to escape the summer crowds entirely. The coastal path is right there too – honestly, some of the most spectacular walking in Cornwall starts practically at your doorstep. I stayed in September and the weather was still gorgeous, plus everything’s a bit quieter than the peak summer madness. Even in busy season though, that stretch of Gyllyngvase Road stays relatively peaceful. It’s one of those places where you end up extending your stay if you can, because once you’re settled in with that combination of comfort and location, everywhere else feels like a compromise.

  This apartment is all around an excellent choice. The location is fantastic with beautiful views over the beach and sea. The facilities were top-notch and there is such an attention to detail in the food that was provided but also in the toiletries, towels, utilities and furnishings. Even down to a hot water bottle being provided. You couldn’t ask for more for a break away. And nothing is too much trouble for the host.
