You know what struck me first about Dunes View? It’s actually in one of those perfect spots where you can hear the Atlantic but you’re not getting sand blown into your coffee every morning. I mean, Perranporth can be pretty wild when the wind picks up, but this place on St Pirans Road sits just far enough back from the main beach chaos while still giving you those proper ocean views that make you forget you’re technically still in Cornwall and not somewhere ridiculously expensive.

The building itself is honestly impressive – five stars that actually feel earned rather than just claimed. The Atlantic Bay Flats setup works really well because you get hotel-level service but with more space to spread out, which is brilliant if you’re staying more than a couple nights. What I loved was how they’ve managed to keep that coastal elegance without going full nautical-theme-park, if you know what I mean. The interiors have this clean, contemporary feel that actually complements the rugged coastline views rather than competing with them. And speaking of views – well, the name says it all, doesn’t it? You’re looking right out over those famous Perranporth dunes that stretch for miles. Early morning coffee watching the surfers head out is sort of addictive.

Location-wise, you’re perfectly positioned for exploring this stretch of coast. Perranporth village is an easy walk down the hill, and honestly, having stayed in places right on the beachfront before, I actually prefer being slightly elevated like this. You avoid the summer crowds stumbling past your window at midnight, but you’re still close enough to grab fish and chips or hit the Watering Hole when you want that proper beach bar experience. The parking situation is actually sorted here too – sounds boring but trust me, it matters when you’re trying to explore places like St Agnes or even day-trip to Padstow without worrying about losing your spot. What really impressed me was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the area. Not just the obvious tourist stuff, but they pointed me toward some brilliant coastal walks I never would have found otherwise, including this incredible stretch toward Cligga Head that’s usually empty even in August. The 9.5 rating makes complete sense when you experience the whole package – it’s that rare combination of properly luxurious accommodation with authentic local character that’s getting harder to find along this coast.

  This property's location is simply superb. It is in the heart of Perranporth and within walking distance of everything in the town.
  
  Within the flat, there is everything you would need: plates, glasses etc. There is even a dog bed, blanket and bowl, which was really helpful.
  
  The beds were comfortable and the apartment very clean.
  
  Thankfully, as the weather was a little disappointing during our stay, a few games were provided too. It certainly provided a few hours of entertainment when needed.
  
  The host was attentive in her communication. I never needed to chase for information regarding checkin/ out. It was always provided in good time.
  
  There was an extensive information pack provided which was really helpful and gave me a few ideas of where to visit whilst staying in Perranporth.
  
  Overall, a really wonderful stay and would be happy to return.
  
  What could be improved: There was only one parking permit. I did spot some visitor bays in the car park, but if travelling with two cars, I would suggest asking the host about the rules/procedures around using a second space.
  
  The bed was quite creaky. This was easily solved by putting a cushion behind the headboard. After that, I slept very well.
  
  The shower was quite weak, but got the job done.

  Lovely, cosy, well equipped apartment right next to the beach.
  
  We felt at home as soon as we walked in.
  
  Perfect location, straight out of the back gate, onto the beach, with Chapel Rock and the Watering Hole on your doorstep.
  
  Good communication from the hosts, with all the information you could possibly need in the welcome pack.
  
  As regular visitors to Perranporth, this was our favourite accommodation we've stayed in.
  
  Our dog loved his morning walks along the beach.
  
  We hope to return to Dunes View for another break in the future.

  Location is excellent. So close to the beach and shops etc. Dunes view had everything we needed. Kitchen contains everything needed for a self catering holiday. Bathroom although compact was user friendly and shower was very good. Lounge well equipped with TV, WiFi and enough seating space and bedrooms comfortable and airy.
  Location perfect for Perranporth beach and great location for travelling around Cornwall. Designated parking space so no concerns with parking.
  
  What could be improved: Only thing missing, for me was hanging space. There is hanging space but for 5 foot nothing people it was not easily accessible. One lower fitting space would be fabulous.

  Welcoming and clean. Good facilities, and easy to find. Very cosy. Good Wi-Fi, nicely presented
  
  What could be improved: Only thing there was sand in one of the beds and the floor was also a bit sandy (to be expected by the beach) but should have been cleaner if it had been hoovered and bedding changed.
