You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled into Trevella Holiday Park to check out Sandy Toes – I mean, holiday parks can be hit or miss, right? But honestly, this place surprised me in the best way possible. The moment you walk into the accommodation, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually thought about what families need when they’re trying to unwind. The interiors feel fresh and coastal without being over-the-top themed (thank goodness, because I’ve stayed in places that looked like a beach shop exploded).

What really got me was the location within Crantock itself. I mean, you’re literally a short walk from one of Cornwall’s most gorgeous beaches – and I’m talking about the kind of expansive sandy stretch where kids can run wild and you can actually find a quiet spot even in summer. The local footpath down to Crantock Beach is pretty straightforward, though fair warning, it gets properly busy on sunny weekends between July and August. But here’s the thing locals know – if you head out early morning or later in the evening, you’ll have stretches of that beach almost to yourself. The surf’s decent too, and there’s always a good crowd of families and surfers mixing together without it feeling chaotic.

Actually staying at Sandy Toes feels more like borrowing a friend’s really nice holiday home than being stuck in typical tourist accommodation. The kitchen’s properly equipped (I’m talking decent knives and pans that aren’t ancient), and there’s enough space that you don’t feel like you’re tripping over each other if the weather turns. Speaking of weather – and this is Cornwall, so it will turn at some point – the heating actually works well, which sounds basic but you’d be amazed how many holiday lets get this wrong. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that awkward waiting around wondering if anyone’s actually expecting you. Parking’s sorted right there, which honestly makes such a difference when you’re hauling bags and beach gear around. The whole setup just works without any of those little frustrations that can derail a holiday before it properly starts. I’d definitely come back, and that 8.3 rating feels about right – it’s not trying to be fancy, but it nails everything that actually matters when you want a proper Cornish break.

  The caravan was super clean..quilts, pillows and mattress very comfortable..linen was fresh and hotel quality..Caravan site lovely and quiet..fairly good bus service to Newquay and Crantock..little pool was lovely..very dog friendly site..super walks ..

  Lovely! Nice and clean. Leaving tea sugar and milk was a nice little touch. Easy to find and on a really lovely sight

  Location was fabulous. The site is really lovely and easy access to lots of different locations. Crantock Beach which is 5 mins away is breath taking. Fiscal beach only minutes away is beautiful. The caravan is really spacious and comfortable.We went to Falmouth one day and took a ferry over to St Mawes. Absolutely beautiful. The weather was gorgeous. We will definitely be back.

  Lovely property, well situated near Crantock and very close to bus route for surrounding locations e.g. Newquay. Owner was very attentive and easy to deal with. Caravan was well set up when we arrived (welcome pack etc). Messages answered promptly.
