You know what? I almost drove right past Colin and Annie’s place the first time – it’s tucked away in West Looe in a way that feels properly local, not touristy at all. The caravan sits on this lovely spot where you can actually hear the harbor sounds drifting up, but you’re far enough from the main drag that you won’t get woken up by late-night revelers stumbling back from the pubs.

The thing that struck me immediately was how much thought Colin and Annie have put into this place. I mean, it’s still a caravan, but honestly, they’ve transformed it into something pretty special. The interior feels way more spacious than you’d expect – they’ve done clever things with mirrors and lighting that make it feel almost cottage-like. The kitchen area is surprisingly well-equipped too; I managed to cook proper meals rather than just surviving on takeaway from town. There’s this little seating area by the window where I’d sit with my morning coffee, watching the mist roll off the water. The bed is actually comfortable (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case with holiday rentals), and the shower has decent pressure – small things, but they matter when you’re trying to rinse off salt after a day at the beach.

What I really appreciated was how they’ve struck this balance between giving you everything you need without making it feel cluttered. There’s proper storage space, good WiFi if you need to check emails, and – this was brilliant – they’ve left a folder with genuinely useful local tips. Not the usual tourist board stuff, but actual recommendations like where to get the best pasties (it’s not where you think) and which tide times are best for the coastal walks. The parking situation is straightforward too, which is honestly a relief because anyone who’s tried to navigate Looe in summer knows what a nightmare that can be. From here, you can walk down to the harbor in about ten minutes, or take the slightly longer route along the coastal path if you’re feeling energetic. The town gets absolutely rammed during peak season, but somehow this spot feels like a little sanctuary away from all that. I’d definitely come back – and that 9.3 rating makes complete sense once you’ve stayed here.
