You know what caught me off guard about Chelsea House? I was expecting just another holiday apartment block, but walking up Emslie Road – which is this lovely quiet residential street that feels properly Cornish – the place actually has character. It’s tucked away from the main tourist drag, but honestly, that’s what makes it work so well.

The apartments themselves are genuinely spacious, and I mean properly spacious, not that cramped “cozy” nonsense you usually get. The kitchens are actually equipped for real cooking (decent sized fridge, proper oven), which matters if you’re planning to hit the farmers market down on The Moor and cook some local fish. What really impressed me was the attention to detail – good quality linens, solid Wi-Fi that doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and the kind of shower pressure that actually wakes you up in the morning. The whole place feels like someone’s put thought into what travelers actually need, rather than just ticking boxes. I stayed in a ground floor unit and barely heard the upstairs neighbors, which is rare in holiday apartments.

Location-wise, it’s brilliant once you know your way around. You’re about a ten-minute walk down to Falmouth town center and the harbor – easy enough even with shopping bags on the way back up (though it is a bit of a climb, fair warning). The Maritime Museum and all those waterfront pubs are right there, and if you fancy the beach, Gyllyngvase is just around the corner. What I really appreciated was being close enough to walk to Kimberley Park Road for groceries without needing the car every time. Parking is actually straightforward here too – there’s dedicated spaces, which is honestly a godsend in Falmouth where you’re usually circling blocks looking for somewhere to leave the car. The 9.7 rating makes total sense when you’re there – it’s one of those places where everything just works without fuss. Staff were lovely during check-in, gave proper local recommendations (not just the obvious tourist spots), and seemed genuinely interested in making sure we had what we needed. I’d definitely book again, especially for a longer stay where having a proper kitchen and living space makes all the difference.

  Amazing private space, fantastic apartment, friendly and helpful hosts, painless checking-in process with a lock box next to the door on arrival. Could not recommend more for a stay in Falmouth.

  The host was at the entrance and helped us get in. While there was a (working) lock box, it was super sweet to be welcomed by the host. Nigel explained everything about the property and gave us many great insights and suggestions about the property itself and environs, including great restaurant suggestions and tips about the beaches and walks.

  Really good menu choice, beautifully presented and top marks for taste. The location was great, and close to the beach and town. The hospitality was second to none, Sharon and Nigel were extremely warm and welcoming. The little homemade daily cookie treats were a very special touch
  
  What could be improved: Because I have a knee problem, the external steps and interior stairs were a bit of a challenge. Also whilst the path looked very very decorative it wasn’t compatible for rolling a suitcase on wheels.
  Nevertheless, these issues certainly wouldn’t put me off going again

  We had a lovely welcome and everything was so easy and well- thought out. The attention to detail was fabulous and the food delicious. I must say our bed was the comfiest I’ve slept on in ages! Even our elderly grumpy dog had a fab time!
