You know what? I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Cornwall, but this spot on Daniel Place really caught me off guard – in the best way possible. When you first pull up, you’re thinking “okay, it’s Penzance, how modern can it actually be?” But honestly, the moment you step inside, it’s like someone took a slice of contemporary London and dropped it into this Victorian terrace. The styling is properly sleek without being cold, if that makes sense – all clean lines and thoughtful touches that actually work together.

The location is pretty brilliant, actually. Daniel Place is one of those streets that feels residential and peaceful, but you’re literally a five-minute wander down to the harbor and seafront. I mean, you can smell the salt air from the windows, and on clear mornings you catch glimpses of Mount’s Bay between the buildings. The gated parking thing might sound like a small detail, but trust me – if you’ve ever tried to find a decent parking spot in Penzance during summer or when the Golowan Festival is on, you’ll appreciate having your own secure space. No circling around Chapel Street at 11 PM hoping for a miracle.

What really sets this place apart though is how they’ve thought about the actual experience of staying here. The home (and it does feel like a home, not a sterile hotel room) has this perfect balance of being Instagram-worthy but also genuinely comfortable. The kitchen is properly equipped – not just a kettle and some sad instant coffee, but actual cooking facilities if you want to prep a picnic for the Scilly ferry or make breakfast before heading out to Land’s End. The beds are ridiculously comfortable, and the whole place stays surprisingly quiet despite being in the town center. I was there during a busy weekend in August and barely heard any street noise, which is pretty impressive considering how lively Penzance can get, especially around pub closing time. The 9.7 rating isn’t just people being generous – it’s because the owners have clearly stayed here themselves and fixed all those little annoyances that usually drive you mad. Fast wifi, proper shower pressure, enough plug sockets, blackout curtains that actually block light. You know, the stuff that makes the difference between a good stay and a great one. Plus, being this close to the train station means day trips to St. Ives are dead easy, and you’re perfectly positioned for exploring West Penwith without feeling like you’re staying in the middle of nowhere.

    The standard of accommodation was excellent and the property was conveniently located by the sea front, which suited our needs exactly. On arrival there was fresh milk in the fridge and and biscuits on the table – a nice welcoming touch!

    A really beautiful, clean, comfortable house with everything you could ask for!
    The beds are beautiful as is the sofa!
    Well equipped kitchen, nice big fridge and freezer and a stones throw from the beach. I will definitely be coming back in the future 👌🏼

    Perfect location. Beautiful accommodation with everything we needed. Easy access to the gated car park. Great communication from host Joel. We had a lovely stay in Penzance with day trips around Cornwall – wonderful, just wonderful! Can't wait to return.

    Excellent location, 10 mins walk to shops in the town and lots of great places to eat and drink. The harbour had great views and there were frequent buses to St Ives and other places to visit. Also a cinema within walking distance too.
    The house was lovely. Very warm and clean, comfy beds and lots of space. Nice little back garden with seating and a fire pit. Great TV perfect for movies in the evening and a lovely spacious bathroom with roll top bath and large shower.
    Highly recommended!

    What could be improved: There wasn’t anything we didn’t like!
