Okay, so Bumbeldink – and yes, that’s actually the name – sits right in the heart of John Fowler Holiday Village in Uny Lelant, and honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first rolled up. The name alone had me curious, but this place turned out to be one of those pleasant surprises that makes you want to text your friends immediately.

First thing you notice is how quiet it gets once you’re away from the main village buzz. Uny Lelant itself is this tiny Cornish village that most people drive through without stopping, but that’s exactly why staying here works so well. You’re literally a stone’s throw from Lelant Saltings train station – I mean, you can hear the little branch line trains puttering by, which is oddly soothing rather than annoying. The real genius of the location hits you when you realize you can hop on that train and be in St. Ives in about eight minutes, avoiding all the nightmare parking situations that plague everyone else trying to visit Cornwall’s most famous seaside town. The staff seem genuinely proud of this little secret, and they’ll point out the walking path down to Lelant station without you even asking.

What really sets Bumbeldink apart though is how they’ve managed to feel like a proper boutique experience while being part of a larger holiday village. The rooms have this cozy, almost cottage-like feel – thick carpets that actually muffle sound (thank god), and windows that open properly for that fresh Cornish air. You know what impressed me most? The shower pressure is absolutely fantastic, which sounds trivial until you’ve stayed in a few too many coastal places where the water barely trickles out. The whole place has this lived-in comfort that five-star usually lacks – I actually found myself hanging out in the lobby area just because it felt welcoming rather than intimidating. Parking is straightforward too, which anyone who’s driven around Cornwall will appreciate, and check-in was refreshingly quick without the usual hotel rigmarole. The 8.9 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s not trying to be flashy or Instagram-perfect, but everything just works the way it should. If you’re planning to explore the Penwith area (and you should – the coastal path toward Carbis Bay is stunning), this is honestly one of the smartest bases you could choose.

  Very lovely. Clear communication and directions. Perfect stay for a get away. Great view to the forest. Very close to St Ives and Hayle, even penzance isn't far away. There's a bus leading out, so perfect for them days that I didn't want to drive.
  
  What could be improved: The path is on a little incline. No issue for us, just rough on rusty knees.

  It felt like home from home. Very well equipped could not fault at all
  As for location ,you can not get a better place .its a caravan park but set in woodland with woodland walks

  An absolute beauty of a spot! Being surrounded in nature, the birds, the different trees, all the home comforts, made a curry toasties spag bol the lot! I will continue to come back – I never knew Cornwall was such a magical place, my family and I felt so safe in bumbeldink, I was sad to come back to Bristol.
  
  What could be improved: The dog hairs, as much as I love the fact people get to take their dogs away, the dog who had last visited must of been a big fury chap.

  Located in John fowler's holiday village the apartment is in a quiet peaceful location surrounded by woods. It's a shame it was raining when we were there. Rooms were cosy, kitchen is equipped with all tools for cooking with a dishwasher. There's a launderette nearby.
  
  What could be improved: We were 5 guests but only provided with 4 towels. There were no toiletries. Also, no kitchen towels or foil, make sure to bring some. No wi-fi

  The quiet location. The kitchen was well equipped with everything I could possibly need and more. Bed was comfy and the heating in the property was easy to use. Christmas decorations were a nice welcoming touch.
  
  What could be improved: The only negative for me was the sofa. It is quite uncomfortable and sinks in the middle, definitely due to be replaced.

  Location was great – really dog friendly site; they sat and watched squirrels for hours! Bed was comfy and shower was really good
  
  What could be improved: The heating was difficult to manage and we got chilly; wouldn’t want to stay later into winter for that reason
