Hotel Description
Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to Bogee Farm – the name makes it sound like you’re staying in someone’s barn, right? But this place is actually one of those hidden gems that makes you feel like you’ve discovered something special in the Cornish countryside. It’s tucked away just outside Padstow (maybe a 10-minute drive from the harbor), and the setting is genuinely stunning. You know that rolling green landscape Cornwall is famous for? Well, you’re right in the middle of it here.
What really struck me about Bogee Farm is how they’ve managed to keep that authentic farmhouse character while clearly investing serious money in making everything feel luxurious. The rooms are spacious – I mean properly spacious, not hotel-brochure spacious – and there’s this lovely mix of exposed beams and really thoughtful modern touches. The beds are the kind you sink into after a long day walking the coastal path, and honestly, the bathrooms are better than most London hotels I’ve stayed in. You can actually hear the countryside from your room too, which sounds obvious but you’d be surprised how many “rural” hotels still have traffic noise. Here it’s just birds and the occasional sheep, which I found pretty therapeutic after city life.
The location is what really sets this place apart though. You’re close enough to Padstow that you can easily walk down to Rick Stein’s restaurants (book ahead, obviously) or catch the ferry across to Rock, but far enough out that you feel like you’re properly in Cornwall, not just visiting it. The coastal path is literally on your doorstep – well, maybe a five-minute walk – and if you’re into cycling, the Camel Trail runs nearby. Parking is never an issue, which anyone who’s tried to drive around Padstow in summer will appreciate. The staff actually know the area too, not just the tourist spots but the quieter beaches and decent pubs that locals go to. I got some brilliant recommendations for places I never would have found otherwise.
What I didn’t expect was how good the food would be. I mean, you don’t really book a farm stay for the dining, but they’re clearly taking it seriously here. Breakfast uses ingredients from local suppliers – you can taste the difference in the eggs and bacon, and the coffee is properly good, not that watery stuff you sometimes get in country hotels. The whole operation feels thoughtfully run without being stuffy. Check-in was smooth, the Wi-Fi actually works (important if you’re trying to upload those coastal photos), and the place manages to feel both relaxing and well-organized. It’s the sort of place that justifies its five-star rating without making you feel like you need to dress up for dinner.

Breakfast not supplied. The location was convenient for most Cornish activities. Slight problem with visibility when turning in from road. Hosts are looking at a mirror.
What could be improved: I am nit-picking here- again. I could not find the corkscrew at first and when I did had to spend time finding out how it worked. Then the Microwave-brilliant, all singing, all dancing, but needing a training manual.Potts from United Kingdom – 15 June 2024 (10/10)
Beautifully decorated throughout with great facilities. It was perfect for our week in Cornwall, thank you.
What could be improved: Not much we didn’t like, the small freezer section was very frosty.Mark from United Kingdom – 28 October 2023 (10/10)
Not far from good beaches and restaurants/pubs.
Had everything we needed in accommodation, and the log fire was great. Have a very enjoyable stay.Wright from United Kingdom – 2 October 2023 (10/10)
Peaceful, relaxing and well worth the money. What more could you ask? Nothing!
Give them a try, you won't be disappointed.Frances from United Kingdom – 26 September 2023 (9/10)
Location was very convenient for Padstow – straight down the road and 9 minutes away.
Plenty of parking space. Cottage had been very nicely renovated with good quality fitments.
What could be improved: There was nothing we didn't like. The only one thing we would have liked was more hanging rails for the towels in the bathroom. The towels were lovely but there wasn't enough room to hang them.Sally from United Kingdom – 24 September 2023 (10/10)

Absolutely gorgeous property. Large bedrooms with comfy lounge and big kitchen. Walking around the farm, the renovations are noticeably well done! Location is close to Padstow, with easy access to Truro, Port Isaac, St Ives, coastal routes for the beaches (Trevone), and many other villages. Owners were very helpful and accommodating! We enjoyed being there and are already planning to return.

What could be improved: it’s location and quiet, private atmosphere.
