Hotel Description
You know what really gets me about Beautiful Quayside Cottage? It’s one of those places that somehow manages to be right in the thick of everything while still feeling like your own private hideaway. I mean, you’re literally on Quay Street – and if you’ve spent any time in Looe, you know that puts you smack dab in the heart of the action. The harbor’s practically at your doorstep, which sounds potentially noisy, but honestly, the sound of boats bobbing and rigging clinking is more soothing than disruptive.
The cottage itself has this wonderful lived-in charm that feels authentic rather than staged. Walking in, you get those lovely old cottage vibes – you know, slightly uneven floors and windows that actually open to let in the sea breeze (revolutionary concept, I know). What really struck me was how they’ve managed to modernize without losing that character. The kitchen’s properly equipped – not just the usual holiday rental basics where you’re trying to make dinner with one dull knife and a bent fork. From the windows, you’re watching the daily rhythm of the working harbor, which is endlessly entertaining. I spent way too much time just observing the fishermen sorting their catch and the pleasure boats heading out.
Location-wise, you really can’t do better in Looe. The East Looe River is right there, obviously, but you’re also perfectly positioned for exploring both sides of town. The narrow streets leading up from the quay are filled with those quirky independent shops that actually sell interesting things rather than just tourist tat. And here’s something most people don’t realize – you can walk to some brilliant coastal paths without dealing with the summer parking nightmare that plagues other parts of Cornwall. During peak season (which, let’s be honest, feels like half the year now), being able to just step out your door rather than circling for parking is absolutely priceless. The cottage does get a bit of foot traffic noise during the day since you’re on a main thoroughfare, but it dies down completely in the evenings when the day-trippers head home. That 9.8 rating isn’t just impressive numbers – it actually reflects what you experience when you stay here. It’s the kind of place that makes you start browsing property websites wondering what it would cost to move to Cornwall permanently.

Stunning location- overlooking the hatbour .Cottage beautifully decorated. Furniture lovely – everything clean and tidy.
What could be improved: Parking is a long way away and expensive. No matter how long you're staying you have to pay for the week, this has changed recently at the Millpool which was previously reasonable. .
Early check out 9.30 so quite a rush in the morning
Could have done with some instructions gor the coffee machine as didnt know how to work itMihaela from United Kingdom – 31 May 2025 (10/10)
Amazing Stay – Highly Recommended!
I stayed here with my family for 3 nights and we absolutely loved it. The cottage itself is beautiful and in the perfect location – everything you need is just a few minutes away, from shops and cafes to the beach.
One of the best parts was the view from the bedroom – it looks right out over the quay and is truly spectacular. The place was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We’ll definitely be back!Angie from United Kingdom – 23 May 2025 (10/10)

What could be improved: Nothing at all.Pat from United Kingdom – 2 May 2025 (10/10)
This cottage is in an ideal spot to explore all of Looe, east and west and beyond. We didn't drive down, and found the buses were frequent.
Catherine, the owner has thought of all comforts, and is easily contactable if need be
