Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about the Atlantica? It’s tucked into this Bude Holiday Resort complex on Maer Lane, and honestly, I was expecting something a bit more… generic holiday park-ish. But this place actually has some serious personality. The moment you walk in, there’s this relaxed coastal vibe that feels properly Cornish – not like they’re trying too hard to be boutique-y, but genuinely comfortable in its own skin.

The location is pretty brilliant, actually. Maer Lane might not sound glamorous, but you’re literally a few minutes’ walk from Summerleaze Beach, and I mean the proper sandy bit where locals actually hang out, not just the touristy spots. The staff mentioned that most guests don’t realize Widemouth Bay is only a quick drive south – absolutely worth it if you’re into surfing or just want those dramatic clifftop walks without the Tintagel crowds. Parking was surprisingly painless too, which… well, anyone who’s tried to park in Bude during summer will appreciate that small miracle.

What really sets the Atlantica apart is how they’ve managed to feel like a proper hotel while still being part of the holiday resort setup. The rooms are genuinely well thought out – mine had this little seating area by the window where you could actually sit with a cup of tea and watch the world go by, rather than just perch awkwardly on the bed. The soundproofing is decent too (I was worried about hearing families in the corridors all night, but it was actually pretty quiet). Check-in was smooth, no faffing about, and the woman at reception gave me these spot-on recommendations for dinner in town – she clearly knew her stuff about which places locals rate versus the obvious tourist traps on Belle Vue. I mean, that 9.3 rating makes sense when you experience the little details they get right. It’s not flashy, but it’s the kind of place where everything just… works. Perfect if you want to explore the North Cornwall coast properly without staying somewhere that feels like you’re camping indoors or spending a fortune on some overpriced boutique place that’s all style and no substance.

  Caravan was lovely and clean, it had everything inside that we needed for our stay. Lovely site with an outdoor swimming pool , play area and bar/restaurant aswell. Great communication from the owner 🙂

  Lovely little caravan had everything we needed for the few days we was down there. It was cosey and comfy and the owners was lovely and only a message away if i needed anything. Id highly recomended this place an certainly stay here again.

  The holiday home was amazing. Lovely and clean when we arrived. The rooms were all set up and ready to use with little piles of towels for everyone. Plenty of seating for our little group of 4. The iron and hair dryer were an added bonus. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could need, utensil wise. What really surprised us was the two toilets. They may have been mentioned in the description but we didn't expect them. Communication from the owner was brilliant. They answered all my questions quickly. We loved the email with all the information for our holiday.

  Very clean property and well equipped. Excellent communication with the owner. We appreciated having bedding and towels as these are often not provided in a caravan

  The location was perfect for us, we have a young family and we dont like them sitting in car for too long so being able to walk to beach and town was great. Having 2 toilets was also a plus, i am sure us going during the busier time of year would of been different as well by having the pool and restaurant open but for us the holiday was perfect even in February with rain.
