Look, I’ve stayed at my fair share of seaside places in Cornwall, and Alishan Cornwall Holidays on Narrowcliff Road honestly surprised me. You know how some places look great online but then you rock up and it’s… well, not? This isn’t one of those. The moment you pull into Astor Court – and yes, there’s actually decent parking which is a bloody miracle in Newquay – you get this immediate sense that someone here actually cares about the details.

The location is what really sets this apart, though. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute stroll from Towan Beach, but here’s the thing most people don’t realize – you’re positioned just far enough up from the main Narrowcliff strip that you don’t get the late-night chaos from the surf crowds stumbling back from town. Actually had proper sleep here, which… if you know Newquay in summer, you’ll understand why that’s worth mentioning. The staff genuinely seem to know their stuff too – not just the usual “oh yes, the beach is lovely” nonsense, but proper local intel about tide times and which spots aren’t crawling with tourists at 2pm on a Saturday.

What struck me most was how they’ve managed to nail that balance between being polished (it’s proper 4-star, not pretending) without losing that authentic Cornish feel. The rooms have this sort of understated coastal vibe – you know, tasteful nautical touches without going full-on seaside tat. And honestly? The beds are actually comfortable, which sounds basic but you’d be amazed how many places get that wrong. There’s decent WiFi throughout (tested it myself because I’m one of those people), and the whole place just feels… well-maintained, I suppose. Like they’re not cutting corners on the stuff that matters. It’s the kind of place where you can tell they’ve thought about what actual guests need – proper shower pressure, enough plugs by the bed, that sort of thing. Plus, being this close to the South West Coast Path means you can literally walk out the door and be hiking those incredible clifftop routes within minutes, but still pop back for a proper cup of tea when the weather turns. That 9.1 rating? Yeah, I get it.

  Good location, walking distance to town, bars, and restaurants. Good views.

  We had a fantastic stay in this apartment. It is spacious and has 2 bathrooms. Perfect for a family of four. The flat is overall equipped with everything you need (incl dishwasher and washing machine capsules).

  Wow, the most comfortable bed and some of the best nights sleep I have had in a while. The whole apartment was comfortable, clean with an amazing view. The kitchen has everything that you would need and having two bathrooms was great especially as I was with my teenage son. He loved having his own room. The location was brilliant, near to the local beaches and the town just ten minutes walk away. I would definitely stay again. Thank you.

  Everything else. inside the property was excellent. All facilities were their that you could possiibly want. It was clean to the point of excellance and im very particullar, couldnt find fault in anything.
  
  What could be improved: Upon arrival to the property my heart sank as all the paint was peeling off. It looked dirty and old We all were felling really dissapointed .
  The sea was further away than it appeared in the pictures and very difficult to get to if you have any sort of mobility problems.
  The shower in the non on suite had to be held whilst trying to wash hair and shower. No fixing for it to hold to wall. So a bit awkward.

  Location was excellent. Spotlessly clean. Parking space.
  
  What could be improved: Parking could be a bit awkward at times as residents parked in front of the ground floor flats making it difficult to get in and out with a large car.
