Hotel Description
Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Summerfield Close – it’s this quiet little residential street tucked away from Mevagissey’s main tourist hustle, but that turned out to be exactly what made About Time Meva so perfect. The moment you step inside, you get why they call it a “home-from-home” because it actually feels like someone’s stylish house that they’ve temporarily lent you, not some sterile rental property.
The two bedrooms are genuinely spacious (I mean, you can actually open your suitcase without hitting the bed), and there’s this lovely garden out back where I spent most mornings with my coffee – and yes, if you’re traveling with your dog, they’ll absolutely love it. Mine spent ages sniffing around the hedges and seemed pretty content with the whole setup. The parking situation is brilliant too, which anyone who’s tried to navigate Mevagissey’s narrow streets during summer will appreciate. You know what really got me though? The kitchen is properly equipped – like, someone actually thought about what you’d need to cook a real meal, not just heat up microwave dinners.
Being on Summerfield Close means you’re about a five-minute walk from the harbor (down the hill, obviously – just remember you’ll be walking back up with your fish and chips). The location is sort of perfect because you get all the charm of staying in Mevagissey without the constant stream of day-trippers walking past your window. I could hear the seagulls in the morning but not the tour groups, if that makes sense. The whole place has this relaxed, unrushed vibe that made me want to stay an extra few days – actually, I tried to extend but they were fully booked, which tells you something about how good it is. Little touches like decent Wi-Fi, proper shower pressure, and windows that actually block out light when you want to sleep late make all the difference. It’s the kind of place where you end up texting your friends saying “found the perfect spot” rather than just “the hotel’s fine.”

The apartment is wonderful with great attention to detail as well as being very clean and comfortable.
The owners had provided a lovely gift and we felt very at home with our two small dogs….Thank you so much!!!
What could be improved: Nothing at all.Marianna from New Zealand – 22 April 2025 (9/10)
Beautifully presented property. Lovely touches like arrival treats which were appreciated after long drive.
What could be improved: Just one thing which was driving from Mevagissey to location can be a bit daunting if not used to tricky turns .Maninder from United Kingdom – 23 March 2025 (10/10)
Had a welcome pack with scones, coffee and tea which was unexpected. Place was decorated beautifully and so clean. Host was very helpful when I could not get tv to work.
What could be improved: The property is up a very steep hill and takes about 10 minutes walk into the centre.Laura from United Kingdom – 1 January 2025 (10/10)
About Time was absolutely perfect for us and so dog friendly for our small dog. Beautiful little touch with the welcome hamper. Very clean and smelt wonderful!
What could be improved: It certainly wasn’t an issue for us as we love to walk, but it is slightly uphill. We didn’t mind burning off the Christmas food and drink!Denise from United Kingdom – 21 October 2024 (10/10)
The beautifully clean well appointed and great location was a wonderful for our short stay
What could be improved: Slightly up a hill out of town but this just helped burn off the fish and chipsMartin from United Kingdom – 10 October 2024 (10/10)
Very clean and nicely furnished
It was Just like I lived there with all you could possibly need
Highly Recommended
Even had some Cornish scones waiting for us (cream first in my opinion)
What could be improved: No dislikes all goodBrett from United Kingdom – 25 September 2024 (9/10)
The property is really nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. It had everything we needed and the added bonus of the scones they left for us was a nice touch (and were delicious). The TV was tremendous too. Too often you get a really pathetic one that you have to put on books or board game boxes in order to bring it to eye level…just me??
The house is in a really quiet cul de sac so was very peaceful, a little too far for us to walk to Mevagissy, but we are a bit older.
What could be improved: Sorry, I hate doing this, but there were a couple of things that would have improved it for us. A blind at the window and a lock on the door of the bathroom would be good. I know the property is not overlooked and some people are comfortable with no lock on the bathroom, but we like our privacy.
Also, the lighting in the kitchen is not bright enough. It's a bit dark in there even in the daytime.
Both really easy fixes that we think would have made our stay top notchRichard from United Kingdom – 14 September 2024 (10/10)
Beautiful home. Super clean. Beds comfortable. Mevagissy 15 minutes walk.
Great for dogs having a garden.
Cosy place to stay. Definitely recommend to family and friends.
What could be improved: Nothing to report.Elizabeth from Spain – 19 August 2024 (10/10)
The property was spotless, very well equipped, everything worked well & we were very comfortable. Our hosts were extremely welcoming, attentive & had thought of everything!
Salma from United Kingdom – 11 August 2024 (10/10)
We could take our dog and the hosts were dog friendly people .
What could be improved: Windy tight roads in the village which however can be avoided.
