Look, I’ve stayed at plenty of places along the Cornish coast, but A21 Solano at Riviere Towans honestly caught me off guard – and I mean that in the best way possible. You know how Hayle can be a bit hit-or-miss with accommodations? Well, this place is definitely a hit. It’s tucked right into the Towans area, which if you’re not familiar, is basically this brilliant stretch where the dunes meet civilization without completely destroying the wild feel of it all.

What struck me first was how quiet it actually gets here, especially considering you’re just a stone’s throw from Hayle’s main bits. The soundproofing must be decent because even though there’s the occasional car on the A30 in the distance, you’re mostly hearing wind through the marram grass and maybe some gulls if they’re feeling chatty. The whole setup feels more like a well-designed apartment than your typical hotel room – there’s this attention to detail that you don’t always get, even at four-star places. I mean, they’ve actually thought about storage space (revolutionary concept, I know), and the bathroom setup doesn’t make you feel like you’re playing Tetris every time you need to move around. The bed situation is spot-on too, which matters when you’ve spent the day tramping around Godrevy or getting sand-blasted at Gwithian.

Here’s the thing though – and this is probably why it’s sitting at a 9.5 rating – it’s the location that really makes it work. You’re literally minutes from some of the best beaches in Cornwall, but you’re not paying tourist-trap prices or dealing with the chaos of St. Ives in summer. Hayle gets overlooked by a lot of visitors, which honestly works in your favor if you’re staying here. You can walk to the RSPB reserve if you’re into that sort of thing, or just head straight for the massive stretch of sand that runs from here to Godrevy Point. Parking isn’t the nightmare it can be elsewhere along this coast either – there’s actually space for your car without having to arrive at dawn to claim a spot. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that forced cheerfulness you sometimes get at chain places. Just helpful, local knowledge when you need it and otherwise they leave you to get on with your holiday. It’s the kind of place that makes you think you might actually know what you’re doing when it comes to picking accommodation, which – let’s be honest – doesn’t happen often enough when you’re booking somewhere new.

  location was amazing, and it was a very short walk to the beach front which has amazing sea views. The property itself was good, which is located in a very quiet area.
