Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw the address for 11 Trevithick Court, I wasn’t entirely sure what I was getting into. Holiday parks can be hit or miss, you know? But this place actually surprised me in the best way. It’s tucked into Tolroy Manor Holiday Park just outside Hayle, and while that might sound a bit remote, you’re actually perfectly positioned between some of Cornwall’s best bits. I mean, you’ve got the gorgeous Hayle Estuary practically on your doorstep, and those massive sandy beaches at Gwithian are maybe a five-minute drive away.

The accommodation itself feels more like a proper home than your typical holiday rental – there’s something about the way it’s set up that just works. The court is quieter than I expected (honestly thought a holiday park might be chaos with kids running around all hours), but the layout keeps things pretty peaceful. What really got me was the attention to detail inside – proper comfortable furniture, a kitchen that’s actually equipped for cooking real meals, not just heating up beans. The whole place has this lived-in feel without being worn down, if that makes sense. And the parking situation? Zero stress, which anyone who’s driven around Cornwall in summer will appreciate. You know what’s brilliant too – you get all the perks of being on the holiday park (there’s an indoor pool and some decent facilities) without feeling like you’re staying in a caravan or one of those cramped chalets.

Being in Hayle puts you right in the sweet spot for exploring. St. Ives is literally down the road – you can catch the train from Hayle station and avoid the nightmare of trying to park there in peak season. Trust me on this one. Penzance is easy to reach too, and if you’re into the whole dramatic coastline thing, you’re perfectly placed for hitting up places like Zennor or even pushing on to Land’s End without it being a massive trek. The 8 out of 10 rating honestly feels about right – it’s not trying to be some fancy boutique place, but it delivers exactly what you want from a Cornish base. My only small gripe would be that the Wi-Fi can be a bit patchy (though honestly, that might be a blessing in disguise). If you’re looking for somewhere that feels like home while you explore this gorgeous bit of Cornwall, and you don’t want to pay through the nose for the privilege, this is definitely worth considering.

    The property was nice and clean, well decorated

    What could be improved: The address is little bit confusing, post code of the property take you to the wrong place.
    And no WiFi, even mobile networks is very week inside t he property.

    Lovely little place, so quiet, we slept like logs. It had pretty much all you could need. Nice gesture the supply of tea, coffee, milk and biscuits 😊. Parking right beside.

    Convenience of location was excellent. Lovely little holiday unit

    What could be improved: Lower bunk was not as comfortable. Granddaughter loved the top bunk.

    Lovely comfortable beds

    What could be improved: Did have to clean around because Mildred in some places from being shut up. It wasn't too much trouble just to buy some strong cleaning products and go round and clean it. Once done it was a very nice place

    Big enough for a family, we took the dog as well he enjoyed the beach and the long walks.

    Location very good. Very dog friendly. Self catering and everything needed available in property. Towels and bedding very clean.

    What could be improved: Cobwebs in rooms. Water in shower only just hot could have been hotter.
